Calcined clay is produced under controlled heat and temperature conditions to remove chemically bound water from Kaolin. Ultra fine particle size imparts best hiding properties with excellent sheen control and maximum scrub resistance in water-based paints. Hyper – 80 is a grade name of Calcined China clay series manufactured by 20 Microns Limited.
Hyper – 80 series of Calcined Clay (Kaolin) has been universally used in water-based paints because of their excellent balance of properties and cost performance. During calcination process, various changes regarding morphological, mineralogical and chemical properties occur that result in clay products with excellent optical properties.
Calcined Clay (Kaolin) improves opacity & finds application in partial replacement of TiO2 & substantial replacement of synthetic aluminum silicates. Calcined clay (Kaolin) is available uncoated or coated with a range of coatings available.
Diatomaceous Earth Based Multifunctional Extender
Silcoat DE is a diatomaceous earth based multi-functional extender that offers solutions to rationalise raw material while achieving cost reduction. Due to its specific porous microstructure and naturally occurring fine particle size, Silcoat DE traps air voids that act as tiny deflecting mirror and aid quality critical light scattering properties. It gives opacity and matting power advantage in the interior or exterior paints formulation and also guarantees high colour intensities.
Silcoat DE is available in form of flash calcined and calcined products also.

Polyethylene Matt Wax
Fastflow P/S – Low Molecular Polyethylene Wax is used as a matting wax and processing aid for hard to disperse pigments. This matt wax is also used as fillers in powder coatings, paints and printing ink. Fastflow P/S matt wax provides lubricity and increases the processing capability of the extruder to its optimum level of performance. Fast Flow P/S increases the surface protection and scratch resistance.
Lubrication with Fastflow P/S wax enable processors to run at higher through put rate. Even low dosages of Fastflow P wax create matting effect.

Sub - Micron Talc Sub-Micron Extender
Sub - Talc is high brightness and micro-particles talc produced by revolutionary new engineered milling techniques. This sub-micron talc creates a large number of lamellar particle structures leads to high aspect ratio. These lamellar particles of high aspect ratio function as spacer extenders and fill the sub-microns space between TiO2 particles that ultimately provides an optimal light scattering effect.
The interaction of fine particle size and high aspect ratio of Sub-micron Talc lamellae with the paint components creates a strong resistance to the tension that build up in the drying film as it shrinks. Also, the Sub-Micron Talc particle acts as bridge between binder agglomerates and thereby strengthens the paint film. It significantly reduces the cracking and improves the coating appearance and durability. Sub-Micron Talc platelets reduce oxygen or water transmission and protect the binders from UV radiation. This leads to improvement in the moisture barriers properties of the exterior paints.
'O' Carb - Calcium Carbonate
'O' Carb is micronized, closely controlled, white natural calcium carbonate specially developed for paints-coatings, plastics, adhesives, sealants and paper industry. 'O' Carb is a grade name of Carbonate series manufactured by 20 Microns Limited.
The unique particle size of this ground calcium carbonate distribution optimizes particle packing leaving less void – space to be filled by expensive resin. 'O' Carb calcium carbonate is extremely pure and imparts high brightness.
Micronized Calcium Carbonate
Hydrogel 70T is chemically modified Hydrated Magnesium Aluminium Silicate with unique chain structure. Hydrogel 70T is mainly used as an Inorganic co-thickener and as partial replacement of organic thickener in water base. It is used as thixotropic agent, stabilizer and anti-settling agent in latex and other general waterborne formulations. It also works a cellulosic, associative and alkali swell-able inorganic co-thickener.
Hydrogel 70T thickeners is used in water borne paint systems, adhesives, sealants and coatings. Thixotropic properties of Hydrogel 70T thickener allows paint, adhesive and ink to spread easily when rolled, sprayed or brushed and then stiffen at a controlled rate. These inorganic co-thickeners provide sag resistance, viscosity control, spread ability and excellent feathering at low cost.
Synthetic Aluminium Silicate
Alsil ZX is a synthetic Aluminium Silicate pigment known for its use as filler and anti-settling agent in paint and as semi reinforcing agent in rubber. Synthetic Aluminium Silicate is also used as White Opacifiers in Paints industry.
Synthetic Aluminium Silicate is derived from precipitating naturally occurring aluminium silicate minerals under controlled condition so as to obtain a product of consistent quality. Additional post separation particles classification technology is also adopted to reduce oil absorption and avoid mud cracking in paint film that also controls the rheology of end product.
New generation synthetic aluminium silicate pigment – Alsil ZX is developed specifically for coating industry to act as a spacer for Titanium Dioxide. Alsil ZX, a white opacifier pigment extender, helps to disperse or spaces prime pigment and enhance optical / scattering efficiency with sheen and provide micro-homogeneity of the paint film. Snow white colour of Alsil ZX imparts high brightness, excellent white shade.
Organoclay Solvent Base Thickener
Rio Bent rheological additive is an organic derivative of bentonite clay. Rio Bent, an organoclay thickener, is easily dispersible additive for systems containing primarily aliphatic and other non-polar to medium-polarity solvent base paints and coating. Rio Bent can also be added as a powder to the mill-base either before or after the pigment dispersion or during letdown.
Rio Bent increases viscosity, reduces sagging of coatings on vertical surfaces and prevents settling of pigments and fillers. Rio Bent, as an efficient organoclay thickener, can be used in anti-corrosive paints, bituminous coatings, decorative alkyd paints, primers, fillers, undercoats, traffic paints and printing inks.
Synthetic Barium Sulphate-Blanc Fixe
Basofix is another leading innovation from 20 Microns with an average particle size of 0.7 microns. Especially formulated for paint, powder coating and pigment manufacturing application, the fine particles of precipitated Barium Sulphate in Basofix impart high gloss & extensive coverage. Barium sulfate is also called as Blanc Fixe, a French word meaning ‘permanent white’.
Basofix (Blanc Fixe) is chemically synthetic Barium Sulphate with surface modified. Its snow white colour imparts excellent shade and brightness to the end product. Ultra fine Barium Sulphate particles of Basofix act as a spacer for prime pigments and hence contribute to the hiding with very high gloss in end application.
Micron Hydrous Clay / Kaolin
china clay, also known as kaolin or glossy clay, falls under the kaolinite group of clays. Kaolin is fine white clay mainly composed of kaolinite and other related minerals such as halloysite. Kaolin is a hydrated alumino-silicate having a sheet structure.
the general formula of kaolin is al2(si2o5)(oh)4. The ultimate breakdown product of most rock-forming minerals is kaolinite. It is formed through the alteration or kaolinization of feldspar-rich parent rocks by weathering or hydrothermal processes. Free silica (grit) is the most undesirable impurity and is removed during processing by levigation, sedimentation or air-separation techniques. Using advanced techniques, kaolin is developed as super glossy range of quality clay. Brightness combined with ultra fine particle size of kaolin helps to achieve excellent shade along with exceptional print, gloss and hiding.
glossy clay t, a fine hydrous kaolin from 20 microns limited, is a product with ultra fine particle size & high brightness to offer ease of dispersion and improve gloss in both aqueous and solvent base paints and printing ink. Resources of calcium carbonate: India is a large country but there is a scarcity of high quality calcitic marbles. Many marbles in Rajasthan are dolomitic in nature and are too abrasive to be used as ground calcium carbonate (GCC). Marbles of calcitic type are found in Gujarat, which are quarried for blocks and decorative stone. The availability of waste for ground calcium carbonate is limited and expensive.
Natural Talc-Hydrated Magnesium Silicate
Natural Talc is a mineral composed of hydrated magnesium silicate. It naturally occurs as foliated to fibrous masses, its monoclinic crystals being so rare as to be almost unknown. Natural Talc has a perfect basal cleavage, and the folia are non-elastic, although slightly flexible. The colour of Talc ranges from white to grey or green and it has a distinctly greasy feel.

Substantial resources of natural talc quantities are established in Rajasthan (50%) and Uttarakhand (32%). By grades, cosmetic grade accounts for about 26% share in the total resources followed by Paper & textiles at 21%.
Indian Talc, mined in Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh, is comparable with the best Talc quality among the world, ranking second best in the world after Italian Talc. The four key markets of Paper, Ceramics, Plastics, and Paints account for approx 80% of the world talc demand.
White Pigment Opacifier

High Performance Opacifiers - Partial Replacement Of Tio2
Opak 6000 T Opacifier is an anhydrous natural mineral designed to provide substantial cost saving through partial replacement of TiO2. Opak 6000 T opacifier is produced as a by-product from Cryogenic Super Conductive Magnet waste that contains Rutile and Kaolin (approx 50:50). On further calcination it behaves like a pigment as it contains TiO2 and calcined clay. Due to micronization its particle size matches with rutile TiO2 and thus it acts as an opacifier and partial replacement of TiO2. Opak 6000 T is optimally adjusted with surface modification to offer ease of dispersion for optical properties.
