to know about it's powers i must first tell you its history.
as you can see in my family name(marangattu) we belonged to one of the oldest brahmin families situated at a place called "niranam" in kerala. This stone is said to be handed over from my forefathers till the generation of my great grand father , who was christened by "thomasleeha" an apostle.
after becoming christians, as our food and cultural habits have changed , our family began to degenerate steeply. Only very recently we came to know about it's cause - that of keeping the stone openly . According to hinduism a stone if found unsuitable should be wrapped in dried cow dung and again in black leather so as to prevent any rays radiating from that. Experimentally we complied with the suggestions of the astrologer to find miraculous changes, both financial and psychological.
there are two myths surrounding this stone,one about it's astrological value and the other it's scientific value.
astrological value: one myth is that the fluid inclusion in the core of the stone is the "tears of goddesses and the earth preserved it by wrapping it with stone.
another myth is associated with snakes, that it is vomited by a mother snake and been guarded by snakes.
according to astrologers the stone would bring in prosperity if kept in the west- north corner of your office room or residence.
one must plant the stone in the mentioned corner in a ritualistic way- take the stone in the right palm clenched , strongly think about of any one wish of yours, plant it in the said corner.
keep the stone openly for the rays of the sun to reflect in it.
if you find any slight feeling of ill- happenings , don't hesitate to take off the stone at the earliest and wrap it in cow dung ,as i said earlier, otherwise it may end in horrific things as in the case of our family.
i am sure either it would bring prosperity or doom . You can surely feel that within a small period.
another very important thing is to keep the stone away from places where women is frequented.
it's not advisable to try to carve the stone in order to stud it to a ring or pendent, as carving involves heating ,by which the liquid inside the core may burst out, besides the possibility to getting it lost.
scientific value: an adviser from the geology department opinioned that the" unidentified liquid inclusion in the core" as mentioned in the certificate from the mining and archeology department , kerala, might have been stored in the stone thousands of years back, and would be use full for geologists to conduct studies in connection.
Any how i personally think that it should be preserved and kept by suitable starred and brahmin cultured (or atleast with vegetarian habits) persons to bring in good family and property, rather than cut open for experiments .
