High purity dense castables are refractory castables suitable for high temperature applications, all of which contain high purity refractory cement cal-al-75 as the refractory binder. the impurity levels of all these castables are very low. these castables are available in various grades. each grade of castable is suitable for a specific range of operational conditions. these refractory castables are hydraulic setting and can be cast or moulded to any shape and can also be suitably modified for gunning of furnace linings. tabcast tabcast is a group of very high purity white tabular alumina based castables meant for critical applications in fertiliser, refinery, petrochemical and steel industries. these castables can withstand service temperature upto 1850 0c in co and hydrogen atmospheres. salient features of these castables are high bulk density, high strength at all temperatures, excellent workability, good abrasion resistance, excellent resistance to thermal spalling and good volume stability.
Medium Purity Dense Castables
Medium purity dense castables are mainly our firecrete brand refractory castables, which are suitable for use in medium temperature applications. This group of castables contains medium purity cement calundum as the refractory binder. depending on the type of refractory aggregates used in these castables, a series of firecrete group of castable are manufactured. all these castables are used in oxidising atmospheres only. these refractory castables are hydraulic setting and can be cast or moulded to any shape and can also be suitably modified for gunning of furnace linings.
High Alumina Binders
The high alumina binders, used for making refractory castables, are calcium aluminate cements. these binders are proportioned with selected refractory aggregates in various combinations to obtain castables of specific high temperature properties. acc produces three grades of high alumina binders - calundum, cal-al-75 & cal-al-85. calundum, a medium purity high alumina refractory binder, sets hydraulically and when used with refractory aggregates, provides a high strength refractory castable. the alumina and iron oxide contents of calundum are more than 48% and less than 5% respectively. cal-al-75, a high purity refractory binder, sets hydraulically and when used along with refractory aggregates, provides a refractory castable of superior strength. castables based on high purity binders, can be used at higher temperatures. cal-al-75 has alumina content more than 72% and contain very low level of iron oxide and silica. cal-al-75 (lo si) is a superior grade of high alumina binder with almost negligible amount of iron and silica. cal-al-85 is a high alumina, high purity refractory binder, with refractoriness of over 1770oc and thus makes it an ideal binder for castables demanding extra high resistance to corrosion and erosion by gases.
Low Cement Castables
Accmon accmon is a series of low cement castables, having high pce and high strength at all temperature levels. these castables are favoured in locations, where refractory abuses due to abrasion as well as application temperature are very high. acc refractories is largest producer of low cement castables in india. salient features: low lime content : less cement means low lime content and hence withstands higher temperature than conventional castables. low porosity : less cement also means low water requirement for casting which implies lower porosity, high density and high strength. high strength : this is due to low porosity resulting from low water requirement for casting and also the presence of dispersed ultra-fine particles. accmon ultramon is a series of ultra-low cement castables, which contain even lower level of cement than low cement castables. the salient features of these castables are as follows: low cao content ensures high refractoriness. excellent hot strength and mor at all temperatures lower apparent porosity after firing offers better corrosion resistance. high abrasion and spalling resistance high volume stability
Refratherm - Acc
The technological changes in cement production and the growing sizes of rotary kilns require much superior grade and quality of bricks to achieve uninterrupted kiln operation and low energy consumption. to satisfy this requirement, acc collaborated with worlds largest and most well known refractory producer of cement industry - refratechnik, gmbh of germany. by virtue of this alliance acc is producing refratherm-acc, a high strength insulating brick for calcining zone of cement rotary kilns. these chemically bonded bricks are unique because of their following features: - high ccs ensures better abrasion resistance. - substantial reduction of load on kiln drives due to their lighter weight. - formation of glassy surface during application protects the body of refractory from destructive effect of alkali penetration. - lower thermal conductivity, compared to high density fireclay bricks, ensures reduced heat loss through preheating and calcining zones of kiln. these bricks are ideally suited for use in the preheaters, firing hoods, coolers and preheating zones of cement plants. they are also proposed for use as back-up lining in steel plants, for lining the kilns in lime plants and other applications where energy conservation would lead to substantial reduction in direct costs.
INSULYTES ACC offers a range of insulating castables in the INSULYTE series to conserve heat in furnAces. They are light but adequately strong and have low conductivity, thus serve as either hot fAce or back- up insulating refractory lining. INSULYTE castables are produced in the density range of 400 to 1600 kg/m3. They are available mainly in two different grades - medium purity and high purity. The high purity (low iron) variety is suitable for reducing environment. In addition to standard products, tailor-made compositions are also supplied to suit customer requirements. ACC also offers TABCAST 97L, a bubble alumina based insulating castable, which is suitable for use up to an application temperature of 1800OC. This product has an extremely low level of impurity, high strength, low density and low thermal conductivity.
