About Acharya Mahesh (Vedic–Pravaktha)
Acharya Mahesh (Vedic–Pravaktha) comes from an unbroken line of Brahmin Vedic Pandits belonging to the Vashistha gotra. He began learning the science of Vedic Recitation and Performance from his father beginning at the age of Ten.
Acharya Mahesh (Vedic–Pravaktha) earned his Acharya (Master’s) Degree and soon gained renown in the Gurgaon Haryana India for his knowledge as well as his skill in organizing large-scale Yagyas. His father late sh. Ram Shanker has been in the Gurgaon Haryana India for over 45 years, and has served as a Part-time priest at the Hindu Vedic Sansthan. * TRADITIONAL VEDIC RITUALS:- Yagya is a Sanskrit word derived form the word “Yaj”, which means fire sacrifice. It is a combination of traditional vedic rituals performed for getting nature support in a particular direction. In a yagya six duties are performed, which include devotion, worship, recite of vedic mantra for a particular purpose fire sacrifice (hawan) donation (daan) & daily eating of pandits (Brahman Bhojan). This complete process together is called ‘Yagya’ and because we strictly follow hard vedic regulations of chanting, vedic mantra in rituals, we call it vedic yagya. These yagyas can be performed for individuals for societies or for a nation for several purposes and targets.

** Vedic Sanskaars (Sacraments):-
Since ancient time rituals play an important role in Indian culture. There are sixteen kinds of sanskars or rituals which are practices from man’s birth to death. From the scientific temper also these rituals play avital role in the spiritual evolution of a man. When these laid down sanskaar are followed or implemented human being grows not only physically and mentally but spiritually also. The various sanskaar as is detailed in vadas are elaborated below.
Grabhadhan : Conception:- As the name suggests this is related with the conception and birth of a child. Various Vedic mantras are chanted for invoking the grace of gods the birth of a soul.
Punsavana : Fetus protection :-By this Sanskara protect coming child and protect mother with child.
Simanta: Satisfying wishes of the pregnant mother.:- By this sans Kara the various obstacles which a new born soul or child is mitigated.
Jaat Karma: Child birth:- After birth, a child is purified by giving him bath and is put on his father’s lap. After this by performing yagya and prayers blessings are sought for his long life.
Naam Karma: Naming child:- As the name suggest ,it is giving a name to the new born child , which is usually done within 10 days to one year of the birth of a child.
Nish Karma: Taking the child outdoor.:- this is performed within 4 months after the birth of a child.
Annaprashana: Giving the child solid food.:-A child is feeded with Milk, curd, ghee and cooked rice for the first time, once a child is 6 months old.
Mundan or Chola: Hair Cutting:- this ritual is performed when a child is between 3 to five years of age by shaving off the hair on his head. This is also known as “Mundan Kriya”.
Karnvedh: Ear piercing:- This is performed by piercing both the earlobles of a child .During Vedic times this ritual was performed on both the male and female child. There is also a scientific aspect to this ritual.
Yagyopaveet :Sacred thread:- This is also known as the Janeu Ceremony. Only after this ritual the brahmacharya stage of a child begins. A child is impaired with knowledge of the Vedas and is also taught to shoulder his responsibilities.
Vedarambh:Study of vadas and scriptures:-(Commencement of learning of the alphabet) On the third or fifth year ,when choula is performed,this important ceremony can take place. The Brahman or teacher should start teaching the first lesson after worshipping saraswati, the Goddess of learning.
Samaavertana: completing education:-: A child is permitted to return back to his family once he has completed his studies.
Vivah: (Marriage):-A child then enters into Grihastha Ashrama, I.e. by marriage. There are various types of marriage i.e. Brahma, prajapatya, Arya, Deva, Asura, : pishcha and Gandhrava.
