(KPC) had technical collaboration with “Broomwade”, United Kingdom as well as with “Hitachi” Japan for manufacturing of Piston Type, Single/Two Stage, Single/Double Acting, Vertical/Horizontal Balanced Opposed Piston (BOP) Water-cooled Air Compressors. KPC developed the range of “EH, TC & TS” series and “BTD” series compressors.

Lot of Compressor Users feel that there is more maintenance and more downtime in piston type compressors and incurs higher expenditure compared with screw type compressors. As per our experience, it is not so. It is a fact that periodical preventive maintenance is obligatory. But, Piston Type Compressors require less power than Screw Compressors and therefore, they have much lower running cost than screw type compressors.

In BOP Compressors, one has to replace Piston Rings periodically and particular about Valve Maintenance. Because of continuous wear & tear, piston ring clearance increases. Therefore, scavenging of air increases. At the same time, leakages of valve assemblies reduce the output of Compressors. If this precautionary care is taken along with proper water cooling and lubrication, compressors can have long life without loss of efficiency.
