Application:

Adinath Universal Testing Machine is designed to perform tensile, compression, bending and shear tests on metal & other materials, both in the form of test pieces and as finished products.

Principle of Operation

Operation of the machine is by hydraulic transmission of load from test specimen to a separately housed load indicator. The hydraulic system is ideal since it replaces transmission of load through levers & knife edges, which are prone to wear & damage due to shock on rupture of test pieces.

Load is applied by a hydrostaticaliy lubricated ram. The oil pressure in the main cylinder is transmitted to the cylinder of the pendulum dynamometer system housed in the control panel, the dynamometer piston exerts a force proportionate to the hydraulic pressure. This force is transferred through a leverage system to a pendulum.

Displacement of pendulum actuates the rack and pinion mechanism which operates the load indicating pointer.Return movement of pendulum is effectively damped to absorb energy in the event of sudden breakage of specimen.

Machine comprises of the following:

Straining Unit:

  • This consists of a hydraulic cylinder & piston mounted on a robust base. The loading frame consists of an upper crosshead, middle crosshead and lower table.
  • The upper crosshead and lower table is connected by means of two plain hard chrome plated columns. The middle crosshead is fitted on two hard chrome plated threaded columns. A reduction gear motor drives the chain and sprockets fixed at the bottom of the threaded columns for height adjustment.
  • The cylinder and ram is individually lapped to eliminate friction. Axial loading of the ram is ensured by relieving the cylinder & ram of any possible side loading by the provision of ball seatings.

An elongation scale with least count of 1mm is provided for measurement of deformation on various samples.

Tension test is conducted by gripping the test specimen between the upper and middle crosshead.
Compression,   Transverse, Bending Shear and hardness tests are conducted between the middle crosshead and the lower table

Control Panel

The control panel consists of a power pack complete with drive motor and oil tank, control valves, a pendulum dynamometer, a load indicator system and autographic recorder.

We also offer our clients the impact testing machines to carry out the tests like charpy / izod. Our impact testing machines are available in two types like mechanical and digital.

Charpy Test : The Charpy test piece rests on alloy steel support anvils, fitted on the base of the machine rigidly held in position by Allen screws. End stopper is provided for quickly and accurately locating the test piece centrally between the supports.

Izod Test : The Izod test piece is clamped vertically in Izod support fitted on the base of the machine. The support is provided with a machined vertical groove to suit the test piece size. The front clamp piece & the Allen screw enable clamping of the test piece in correct height with the help of Izod setting gauge supplied.

Model AI IT - 30 (ASTM) :
The Impact tester offered with 300 J energy exclusively for Charpy test confirming to ASTM E-23. This machine is geometrically checked in the works to the more stringent requirements of the American standard. The accuracy of the machine is then verified by PROOF TEST by testing standard test specimens supplied by the NIST, USA. All two sets of the five specimens must agree with the normal values within certain tolerance specified.

Model Al-B 3000 (H): Machine designed with a hydraulic power pack and control circuit for effortless loading unloading operation. A dial gauge in front measures depth of ball penetration. This facilitates production testing within tolerance limits by compression method.

Model Al - B 3000 (O): Basic machine design & operation similar to Al B-3000(H). In addition, an 'optical device' with 14 x magnification provided in front to project dia of ball impression on glass screen with a micrometer measuring system with 0.01 mm accuracy. The B.I.M.S virtually eliminates operator influence
It is found that measuring Brinell indentations can result in measurement errors between operators. This B.I.M.S. can virtually eliminate operator influence on test result.
Just place and click Operating B.I.A.S is easy
With this handy instrument entire test sequence is simple. Place the scan hand on the work piece on 'Auto' in tool bar on computer screen. The B.I.M.S. automatically measures the diameter of indentation with resolution of 0.01mm and display Brinell value with diameter measurement. All data storage functions are automatically performed according to batch parameters.
The B.I.M.S. can be configured to meet your needs
An unlimited number of batches can be created each with its own test parameters and certificates. The operator can select test load and indentor size with party name, address, certificate no. date batch no. and description, high and low limits for reading etc. The previous batches can be reopened for viewing and address change etc.
The B.I.M.S. has built in statistical capabilities with graph and certificate for report generation and printing. It includes frequency distribution and variation graphs.
The systems includes calibration and check facilities to calibrate the systems and for checking of calibration. This eliminates any system error in measurement.




The software includes
1) Facility for Auto / semi Auto / Manual modes of operation.
2) Well managed database saves readings w.r.t. batch and certificate.
3) Report generation in the form of certificate and graph as per customer requirements.

Construction-

Torsion Testing Machines

Application & Operation Torsion Testing Machines are designed for checking torsional property of various metal wires, tubes, bars, etc.

Torque applied to the specimen is transferred to measuring dial through lever mechanism. Torque is measured by Pendulum Dynamometer system. Torque range can be adjusted by adding weights. Geared motor is used to exert required torque at other end of specimen. Auto-graphics Recorder gives the relation between Torque and Angle of Twist. These torsion testing machines are calibrated as per latest IS standards.

Calibration is within ±1% operation range of all models.

This is a rotating beam type machine where load is applied in reverse bending manner. Standard 8mm dia. Specimen is held in special holders at its ends and loaded such that it experience a uniform bending moment. Specimen is rotated at 4200 RPM by a motor.
