Principle of operations
It is built so that it can be subjected to heavy loads. It works using the hydraulic system and is measured precisely with the pendulum dynamo meter.

The machine comprises of the following features :
- Straining unit
- Transverse test standard
- Control panel
- Hydraulic system
Working Process:
- Hydro statically lubricated ram is used to apply the load.
- The oil pressure is then transmitted to the cylinder of the pendulum dynamo meter housed in the control panel, the piston then exerts a force proportionate to the hydraulic pressure.
- This force is then transferred through a leverage system to the pendulum.
- The displacement of the pendulum actuates the rack and pinion mechanism which operates the load indicating pointer.
- The return movement of the pendulum is effectively damped to absorb energy in the event of sudden breakage of specimen.
