About UsAlkali Metals Limited was incorporated on April 17th, 1968 as a joint venture between our founder chairman late Dr.Y.V.S.S. Murty and APIDC. Our Quality Management system (QMS) (ISO 9001:2000) has been certified by Bureau Veritas since 1995 and Environmental Management System (EMS) (ISO 14001:2004) has been certified by Bureau Veritas since 2000. The company is engaged in the business of manufacturing sodium derivatives, pyridine derivatives, a range of fine chemicals, based on related chemistry. The Company commenced the production of sodium metal, with an installed capacity of 125 MT. There were only a few manufacturers of sodium metal at that time and the technology was not available. Our Company developed the technology for sodium metal based on in-house R & D capabilities and this was an achievement, considering various hazards in the development and manufacture of the same. The Company has the distinction of developing technology for the manufacture of sodium metal for usage in fast breeder nuclear reactors for power generation. We have developed technology for several derivatives based on sodium metal, picoline and other various cyclic compounds. In the year 1986, APIDC exited from the joint venture. |

Testing Facilities Our two manufacturing facilities are located within the radius of 30Kms from centre of Hyderabad city. Third manufacturing facility (Unit - III) is located at J.N.Pharma City, Vishakapatnam about 25 kms away from Vishakapatnam. Each location has infrastructure facilities of international standards. Unit I (8 km away from Hyderabad city) Unit I (8 km away from Hyderabad city) A facility in 20,000 Sq.M plot,with 8,000 Sq.M built up area and 16,000 Sq.M total floor area is located at 8 Kms from Hyderabad for the production of Sodium Metal Derivatives, Organo Alkali Metallics, Tetrazoles, Pyridine compounds, Cyclic compounds & Fine Chemicals. Unit II (30 km away from Hyderabad city) 100% EOU An additional facility in a 20,000 Sq.M plot, with 4,000 sq.M built up area and 6,000 Sq.M total floor area is located at 30 km from Hyderabad for the production of Sodium Metal derivatives, Pyridine compounds, cyclic compounds & fine chemicals Unit III (25 km away from Visakhapatnam) Unit III Manufacturing facility at Port City of Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh on East Coast of India in a sprawling 66,000 Sq.m. area with GMP compliance and as per FDA requirements. This unit is located in the state of the art Pharma City with complete infrastructural facilities like effluent treatment, hazardous waste disposal, etc. All at one place.
