Descriptions :

This kind of system is also ventilation system in which the fresh air is being made to pass through a wet mist of water either through spray or cell dek pads wherein the dry bulb temperature is considerably reduced and cooled air ( usually at a temperature less than by 5 to 7 degree celsius than the ambient air) is pumped into the department either by an axial flow fan or centrifugal fnas and ducting and grilles.

This effectively reduces the room air temeprature.
Usually exhaust is also employed for effective results.

Features :

• As per pollution board norms,for this kind of application,spark arrestor,primary fabric filter,secondary fabric filter and wet scrubber are to be incorporated in a single system.
• For furnaces where hot metal melting is accomplished,it becomes imperative to take the heavy outflow of fumes which are hot also carry at times fire sparks.
• A primary spark arrestor( which also serves as a primary collector) and a pulse jet fabric dust collector is employed which also satisfies the pollution board norms.

• Fume extraction systems are mainly installed to take the hot/toxic/acidic fumes away from the source and prevent them from spreading inside the department and cause pollution.
• Fume extraction systems can either be local exhaust systems and general exhaust systems.in local exhaust systems,centrifugal blower,fume catching hoods,ductings and dust collectors or wet scrubbers are used.
• Depending upon the nature of the fumes,the materialof construction is planned.for corrosive/acidic nature,frp/pvc/pp is used for the components.

• It is mandatory to provide a good ventilation system which envisages the provision of an effective fume extraction system and fresh air supply systems for the workers.
• Hoods are placed just above the cooking vessels and the fumes are pulled away through the ductings by the centrifugal blowers.
• Large five star hotles and mncs employ a scrubber to further clean the fumes and let out clean air into the atmosphere.
