30 Years of Extrusion Experience ....
P. K. Sugathan has 30 years of Result oriented experience in the Aluminum
Extrusion Industry. During his carrier as Tool Room Manager of Indian
Aluminum Company's extrusion division, he developed a strong commitment to
constant improvement through which the company could reduce rectifications
of sections to very minimum, the productivity of the extrusion presses
increased by 250 % and INDAL became leader in supply of heat sink sections
in the country. He has received many awards from INDAL which includes awards
for developing insert type die for refrigeration tubing.
Indian Aluminum Company, was a subsidiary of Aluminum company of Canada
(ALCAN) and it had tie up with HYDRO Aluminum - Norway, the international
leader in aluminum extrusions, for supply of technology to INDAL. Mr.
Sugathan has undergone training in Aluminum company of Malasyia (ALCOM)
which is a subsidiary of ALCAN. Alcom have two presses - Modern Tool Room
and Anodizing. ALCOM export their material to Japan and Singapore. He has
also undergone training in ALCAN plant in Thiland (ALCAN THAI). ALCAN THAI
is also a subsidiary of Aluminum Company of Canada. ALCAN Thai have three
modern extrusion presses with most modern tool room with ALCAN technology.
At present Mr. Sugathan is engaged as consultant for Aluminum Extrusion
industries for both extrusion productivity and die manufacturing. Bhoruka
Aluminum Ltd, Mysore is one of his client. Under the supervision of Mr.
Sugathan, Bhoruka could inprove on many aspects including their die heat
treatment practices and Bhoruka achieved significant improvement on surface
finish of their extrusions.

We offers consultancy services for aluminum extrusion, extrusion die design,
tool die design, die manufacturing, die correction etc.
Our services includes :
Technology Services
We offer die manufacturing through total CNC milling route with 3-D
modelling software by which a hollow die can be machined in CNC machine
without any handwork.
We also offer die manufacturing through total EDM route with the assistance
of CNC Graphite electrode cutting machine, CNC EDM, Orbital head EDM .The
relief side of die manufactured in this route will have maximum tungue
supports which inturn will enhance extrusion productivity, better profile
accuracy, better die life.
We also offer setting up of modern die heat treatment plants such as
fluidized bed furnace with nitro carburizing, fluidized bed quenching etc.
This heat treatment will enhance better extrusion surface quality, extrusion
speed, better die life etc.
Infrastructure
Under the supervision of Mr P. K. Sugathan with in a span of one year a
modern tool room with all CNC machineries, fluidized bed furnace, CNC EDM
etc were set up for Malabar Extrusion Engineers, India. Malabar Extrusion
Engineers could supply Dies to full satisfaction of CRANE Aluminum ,
Australia and Crane Aluminum have approved Malabar Extrusion Engineers as
their preferred supplier.
Mr. P. K. Sugathan is serving as a consultant for M/s Mahavir Aluminum ,
Delhi, a leading manufacturer of aluminum extrusion in India
Mr. Sugathan has got vast experience of more than 30 years in aluminum
extrusion field with services to aluminum extruders and die manufacturers in
India, Malaysia, Middle East, South East Asia etc. He has got working
experience with presses of capacities ranging from 325 Mt to 3300 Mt and
container Dia 75 mm to 315 mm. He has experience in manufacturing of light
aluminum extrusions with thickness ranging from 0.4 mm and above.He has
designed new toolings for many new presses in India and abroad. Also he has
got die correction experience with dies from Eroga dies-UK, Phoeinx
dies-Italy, Adex dies-Netherlands etc.
