• During his tenure as a Tool Room Manager of extrusion division in Indian Aluminum Company, he worked towards constantly improving the quality by minimizing rectifications of the sections, as a result the productivity of the extrusion presses increased by 250 %
• This helped INDAL became leader in supply of heat sink sections pan India
• Among many awards, he also got an award for developing insert type die for refrigeration tubing from INDAL
• To supply technology to INDAL, Aluminum company of Canada (ALCAN) tied up with HYDRO Aluminum of Norway, which is an international leader in aluminum extrusions and had Indian Aluminum Company, as its subsidiary
• Another subsidiary of ALCAN, Aluminum company of Malaysia (ALCOM) is the place from where Mr. Sugathan underwent his training. This company exports their material to Japan and Singapore and has two presses, Modern Tool Room and Anodizing.
• Underwent training in ALCAN THAI that is a plant of ALCAN in Thailand and its third subsidiary. This subsidiary has the most advanced tool room with ALCAN technology and had three modern extrusion presses
• Experience of working with presses of capacities between 325 Mt to 3300 Mt and container diameter ranging from 75 mm to 315 mm
• Experience in manufacturing light aluminum extrusions with thickness 0.4 mm and above
• For many new presses in India and abroad he designed new tooling
• Experience die correction with dies from Phoeinx dies-Italy, Eroga dies-UK and Adex dies-Netherlands
• Under his supervision, Bhoruka Aluminum Ltd, Mysore, improved its die heat treatment practices and achieved profound improvement on surface finish of their extrusions
• With in a year, under his direction at Malabar Extrusion Engineers, India, fluidized bed furnace, modern tool room with all CNC machinery and CNC EDM were set up. The company became capable of supplying Dies to CRANE Aluminum, Australia, which was fully satisfied by the services and made them their preferred supplier
