Awards / RecognitionAkshay Mehra wins the Outstanding Collection Award at JD Annual Design Awards 2008 Akshay Mehra won the award for most outstanding and creative collection of the year 2008 under theme "OUT OF FASHION" and the name of his collection was "TURNTABLISM", the collection was dedicated to the ongoing trends and styles in music and djing culture. This theme is very uncommon for any design institution as students were required to go and act beyond the principles and ethics of designing and creativity and something experimental.
He showed entirely a new concept and outlook the one looks at the jewelry by combining technology with traditional aspects. He created a concept which was meant to create ambience even in extreme darkness by highlighting all important elements by using flexible neon lights. The concept was a major hit and eye catcher at the event.
Events ParticipationAkshay Mehra does a 3 day exhibition at DLF Mall, Saket Akshay Mehra does a 3 day exhibition at DLF Mall saket promoting and exhibiting some of the finest pieces created and handcrafted by him in fashion jewelry which turns out to be a major success and everything is sold out leaving the stall empty. The buyers were really satisfied with the designs which also had competitive prices compared to others resulting in no sales from other brands exhibiting their jewelry for continuous 3 days.
The feedback from crowd was so strong that starting from children to elders, people were not ready to leave the stall till late night.
