Ion Exchange Treatment Plants

Ion Exchange Treatment Plants

Ion Exchange Treatment Plants (Demineralization plants and softening plants)

The process of demineralization, in which the ions that are present in water are removed, is accomplished in stages, employing ion-exchange resins. These resins are capable of exchanging cations for hydrogen (H ) ions and hydroxyl (OH-) ions in the case of anion exchange resins. Demineralisation of water is achieved by passing water through a series of two ion exchange columns, one for cation removal and the other for anion removal. In the demineralisation of water, generally strongly acidic cation exchange resin and strongly basic anion exchange resins are used. However, the other types of resins and weakly base cation exchange resin and weakly basic anion exchange resins are also used depending on raw water analysis and the purity of the treated water required.

APIPL, its expertisation gained In the design of Demineralisation plants, now offering specialty treatment method to carry out wide range of specialized applications. This includes, boiler treatment where silica level shall be reduced as minimum as possible, or Chemical industries where Weak base anions and week acid cations combinations required etc. During the period of its expertise, APIPL developed new methods to implement Ion exchange technologies to get its maximum efficiency, minimum capital and operating cost. APIPL having associated with various reputed resin manufactures and the knowledge gained about their products results the right selection of resin for the right applications.

Organic Scavenging

The organic scavenging system is mainly for the removal of the micro organisms (fumic, fulvic acid and other naturally occurring organic contaminants) from water. This process will use pre-treatment and post-treatment applications and widely used in ion exchange and membrane based treatment plants.

Condensate Polishing Unit:

In steam based power generation plants or combined cycle power plants, or in tire or paper manufacturing industry, stream releases the energy for manufacturing or generating electricity.
The condensate polishing units are employs an ion exchange resin bed to remove the contaminants and once resin exhausted, the same is regenerated externally. The treatment systems are made to operate with less operator intervence, high efficiency, accommodate large volume of condensates, High velocity and high quality at treated condensate.
All the above systems are engineered to operate in Manual, Semi auto and fully automatic mode. Also we specialized in providing the chemical handling systems and safe discharge /complete re use of Neutralization waste generating from the above plants.

Membrane Treatment Plant

Membrane Treatment Plant

Is a process for removing dissolved mineral salts, organic molecules and certain other impurities by forcing water under pressure to pass through a semi-permeable membrane. Adding value of this new technological development, various membrane separation systems are catering wide applications. Different method of membrane purification systems and its applications are described below.

Membrane treatment plant has become a popular water treatment technology in every industry which is used to separate the suspended and dissolved solute from its solvent. The solvent usually will be water. The most common application of Membrane is the purification of water, involving simply the removal of undesirable contaminants. Industry makes heavy use of this application for producing highly purified process water, and for treating industrial wastewater. The process is used to make potable (drinkable) water by desalination of seawater; and even used residentially to improve quality of water, as well as to remove potentially unhealthy contaminants. Water Filtration Plants

Water Filtration Plants

Filtration is the process of removal of suspended solids, Precipitated irons, removing turbidity etc. Filters are designed for passing water usually downward, through a media where the suspended solids gets trapped and removed. Adsorption and starving are the general filtration mechanisms involved in the removal of suspended solids.

Different types of filter media are used to remove suspended solids, the most common is sand, but anthracite is also widely used. When a coarse layer of very light weight material like anthracite is placed on top of the sand in a normal down-flow filter is used, the coarser suspended particle gets filtered in the anthracite layer and the finer particles in the sand layer, resulting in a less turbid water. This two type of filtration leads to classification of filtration into surface filtration as in the former case and in-depth filtration as in the later case.

APIPL offer wider range of water filtration plants for raw water, drinking water, effluents and sewage treatment applications. Its customized and modified designs are ensured maximum removal of TSS, and even suitable for specialized applications.

The filtration systems offered by APIPL are:

Water Recovery Plants

Water Recovery Plants

The cleaning operation of filter bed by reverse flow of water is called backwash. During backwash the water enters from bottom of Filters and passes through filter bed and loosens the compact bed during service cycle and the suspended solids and other suspended impurities comes out through the outlet. These back wash waste having high-suspended solids content. The water shall be treated before discharge to avoid environmental problems. Normally water consumption though this process is very large and APIPL back wash water recovery systems are capable to treat the back wash waste and ensure complete re use of the water back to the process with acceptable TSS / Turbidity level. These systems are cost effective methos of treating the backwash waste.
