Industrial Mineral

We provide best quality Industrial Mineral which includes Calcium Carbonate, Mica Flakes, Calcium Silicate, Talc powder, Quartz Silica Powder, Feldspar Powder, Kaolin Powder.

Calcium Carbonate

Calcium Carbonate

Calcium carbonate is found on the earth’s surface in many forms such as chalk, PCC, limestone, dolomites and marble. This substance is extensively used in the paint, paper and plastic industry as fillers. Some of the common properties of calcium carbonate that are useful in the application areas are its particle size, whiteness, mineralogical purity and chemical purity. Some of the application areas are as follows:

  • Calcium carbonate (15 to 20% loading) as chalk is used in UPVC drain pipes as its aspect ratio improves the mechanical strength of the plastic pipes.
  • It is used as food additives and in medicines for its chemical purity and consistency
  • Extensive use of PCC is found in the paper manufacturing industry and in polymer making
  • Dolomites because of their brightness and hardness are used in paints and tiles adhesives
  • Marble, also for its brightness and hardness is used in specialty paints, thermoset polymers, food additives and acrylic sealants.
  • When used as fillers, calcium carbonate is coated with stearic acid to improve its functional properties.

Mica Flakes

Clients can avail mica powder from us, which is recovered from mica scraps. Mica scrap is the basic material used in powder or ground mica flakes. The grain size of mica scrapes range from 2 mesh to 30 mesh and is recovered with the process of hammer crushing, processing and screening the crude mica having an average area of 12 to 50 mm sq. (1/2” to 2”). We use hammer crushing machines for this process and the recovered grains are then passed though graded sieves to filter out coarse granules. Care is taken that the natural brilliance, color and properties of mica are not deteriorated in the process.

Wollastonite Mineral

Wollastonite Mineral

Wollastonite or calcium silicate is an exotic mineral found on earth and is extensively used as a constituent of refractory ceramics. This crystalline mineral substance is translucent in nature and is available in colors white, grey or sometimes colorless. Its physical properties, makes wollastonite as ideal heat resistant fillers used in ceramic tiles and paints. Following are the physical and chemical properties of this substance:

  • Chemistry: CaSiO3, Calcium Silicate.
  • Class: Silicates
  • Subclass: Inosilicates
  • Group: Pyroxenoid
  • Luster is vitreous or dull to pearly on cleavage surfaces
  • Transparency: Crystals are generally translucent and rarely transparent.
  • Crystal System is triclinic; bar 1
  • Crystal Habits include rare tabular crystals but more commonly massive in lamellar, radiating, compact and fibrous aggregates
  • Fracture is splintery to uneven
  • Hardness is 5 - 5.5.
  • Soluble in hydrochloric acid and some specimens will fluoresce
  • Chemical Analysis: SiO2 56%, Al2O3 2.75%, Fe2O3 1.5%, CaO 25%, MgO 8.3%, LOI 5.32%, Na2O 0.78%, K2O 0.28% and TiO2 0.10%

Talc Powder

Talc powder is a type of mineral that contains hydrated magnesium silicate and naturally occur in crystalline form. This translucent crystal is available in different colors ranging from white to grey to green. This water insoluble substance is found in many parts of the world and is used in various industries for different applications like:

Cosmetics:

This pure, odorless substance is widely used in cosmetics as body talcum powder after sterilizing it so as to remove any microbiological contamination. Talc powder is also used in toilet soaps, detergents and washing powders.

Animal Feed:

Talc has does not absorb water as it is hydrophobic in nature and so talc powder is used in animal feeds so that the essential nutrients are not lost. Since it is non toxic in nature, its usage poses no danger to livestock. Talc powder is also used as anti-caking coating in the feed bins.

Paints:

The paint industry uses low cost talc powder extensively in marine paints and in protective coats. Talc powder with its platy structure and fineness varying between 100µ to 20µ is mixed in the paints. It is also good a oil absorbent and is thus used in paints between 40 to 60 gm per 100 gm.

Detergents:

Talc acts as a carrier o detergent and being low on cost it is used common filler in the detergent powders. It is inert in nature and due to this quality is harmless to skin.

Paper:

The largest consumer of talc powder is the paper industry with a consumption of nearly 300 Mesh (53µ) of talc that varies in brightness from 80% to 96%. In the paper making business talc powder is used as a filler so as to offer an opacity and smoothness to the paper texture apart from reducing the cost. Furthermore, talc also whitens the papers and controls the gloss of the coat due to its platy texture and high brightness. The coating formulation used on the papers becomes more smooth and opaque. Use of talc also reduces the friction on paper manufacturing machines and thus reduces wear.

Plastics:

Plastic industry used talc powder in PP, HDPE, LDPE, PVC, ABS and other thermosetting compounds. Talc powder of particle size 20µ to 1µ is used as filler in the plastic polymers due the following properties:

  • Platy in nature
  • Smooth greasy feel
  • Superior thermal resistance
  • Superior electrical resistance
  • Chemically inert

Pharmaceuticals:

Talc powder is used a filler in tablets, ointments and dustings because of its chemically and thermally inert nature. The pharmaceutical industry used pure, sterilized and bacteria free talc in the medicines.

Quartz Powder

Quartz Powder

We offer high quality quartz silica powder (Sio2) with mesh size of 100 mesh to 300 mesh, maximum purity of 99.75% and 1st grade brightness of 97%. Clients can avail the best low grade silica quartz powder in India from our organization. This substance is extensively used in ceramic colors, ceramic frits, and ceramic applications and in the paint industry. We offer quartz powder at industry leading price range.

Feldspar Powder

Feldspar is found on the earth’s crust in crystalline form and is a type of igneous rock but is also found in many metamorphic rocks. It is a tectosilicate mineral that constitutes 60% of earth’s crust. Some of common uses of feldspar are as follows:

  • Feldspar is used in the production of ceramics and geopolymers
  • Feldspars is used for thermoluminescence dating and optical dating in earth sciences and archaeology
  • Feldspar is used as an abrasive ingredient in Bon Ami, a brand of household cleaner in the USA.

Feldspar Powder

Kaolin Powder

Kaolin Powder

Kaolin powder or china clay is a common mineral founding mine and is amorphous in nature. This clay has many applications in the ceramic industry, paint industry, pharmaceutical industry and in cosmetic industry. Kaolin clay has many properties because of which it is used in decorative paints, covering powder, clay fillers and rubber compounds. Following are its properties:

  • Desirable flow & suspension
  • Viscous
  • Corrosion resistant
  • Weather resistant
  • High mechanical strength
  • Dimensionally stable
  • Improved electrical properties
  • High extrusion properties
  • Excellent calendaring properties
