About Us

AP Cotton Association was established in the year 1977 with the aim to promote, control, regulate cotton farming in the state of Andhra Pradesh and for welfare of the farmers, members connected with the trade in cotton, cotton-seed crushing and spinning. Suitable rules, regulations and bye-laws for the purpose were framed.

To establish just and equitable principles for conducting the cotton farming, Trade, cottonseed, edible oil and cotton yarn production.

To encourage and secure friendly relations and unanimity amongst all persons connected with the farming and trade in processing of cotton and cottonseed viz. buyers, sellers, spinning mills, ginning mills, pressing factories. seed crushing factories, commission agents and brokers.

To initiate and promote with the authorities concerned the passage of laws, decrees, administrative regulations and other measures calculated to promote and protect the trade in cotton and cottonseed and/or the industries based on cotton and cottonseed and spinning.
To try for, negotiate and secure markets for cotton. Cottonseed, cotton yarn and the products / by-products thereof, for the benefit of the members and farmers.

To establish laboratories for testing staple length,micronaire value, span length, stelometer etc., of lint and oil content, fibre content, F. F. A. etc. of cottonseed and also to set up a research organisation to carry on research for evolving better seed, improved mechanical devices for getting better output of lint, oil etc. and such other scientific advancement as is beneficial to the farmer Members, the trade and the industry.
To encourage and or carry on such activities as are connected with better farming, improved cultivation and growing of cotton and cottonseed in any part of the State of Andhra Pradesh and its extensions and to encourage the activities connected with the improved methods of ginning etc.

To educate farmers on modes of reducing cost of cultivation. Intigrated Pest Management (IPM), Soil testing, Raw cotton picking and packing methods, Marketing etc.
