Digitizing and Deformation Applications

Primarily meeting the digitizing and deformation needs, our range of ATOS III, ATOS II, ATOS I, ATOS SO Systems, TRITOP, ARAMIS, ARGUS, ESPI and PONTOS find their usage across varied industries. The different purpose for which our products and services are used in different purposes like quality control, reverse engineering, rapid prototyping and milling, 3D visualization, material testing, sheet metal forming, large scale deformation analysis.

Rapid Prototyping and Rapid Milling

Our rapid prototyping and milling services find their application in varied purposes like:

-Digitizing tremendously saves time and costs when modifying series tools - ATOS/TRITOP
Modifications to the tools are required during starting up the tools or in the first production phase of car body parts. Thus, the real shape of the tool does no longer correspond to its original and basic design. To repair or reproduce the tool efficiently, the best technical solution is to digitize the surfaces of the tool and prepare the digitized data as CAD data set.

-Modifying series tools -The RIVAGE - High-Tech Model-Making
The present case study "RIVAGE" documents the development of the RIVAGE show car. It took only seven months to turn the first draft into a drivable concept car which, for the first time, was presented in public at the Euromold in 2002.

-Milling on digitized data - ATOS
Big tools or dies for sheet metal work are mostly milled out from casted blanks. The digitizing of the blanks can be done by the ATOS II Scanner and the ATOS export data can be directly imported in CAM systems.

-Forensic Medicine and Forensic Squad Use 3D Digitizing System - ATOS/TRITOP
In order to obtain a complete documentation different techniques are used for the three-dimensional acquisition of results. The modern 3D digitizing technology offers new possibilities in this field.

-Colored digitized data - ATOS/TRITOP
High quality colored 3D data can be generated projecting color information onto digitized data. The resulting data file includes therefore an excellent form and color definition.

-Digitizing of the ancient bronze sculpture of Apoxyomenos - ATOS/TRITOP

-3D visualization of high quality products based on digitized data - ATOS
The creation of superior quality as well as textured 3D-model of an existing object Demands technologies such as digitizing the form, post processing the digitized data, capturing the texture/ color information and mapping it on the 3D form data.

Reverse Engineering

Reverse Engineering

We offer different equipment and technology for carrying reverse engineering processes. The different equipment and their application pertaining to reverse engineering include:

-Digitizing of a Full Scale Falcon 20 "Zero G" Jet Aircraft – ATOS/TRITOP
To digitize Falcon 20 parabolic aircraft to capture it's "as built" condition for CFD analysis, the National Research Council (NRC) Institute for Aerospace Research had a requirement to digitize their, movable aero surfaces positions and aircraft symmetry checks.

-Falcon 20 - A perfect helmet for Formula 1 – ATOS
In order to give the best possible protection in Formula 1 racing, a good comfort and the needed freedom of movement, a light weight, stable and compact helmet with individual upholstery is needed. For this purpose, ATOS digitizing system is used.

-Barrichello 3D-Digitizing of a Ford Focus - Interior/Exterior - Product Analysis - ATOS/TRITOP
With the use of ATOS and TRITOP, the interior & exterior and the BIW (Body in White) of a Ford Focus have been digitized. The measured data can be used in product analysis and "digital mock up" (DMU).

Quality Control

Quality Control

The different digitizing softwares that we have find their usage in quality control purposes. The different softwares and equipment that are used for these purposes are:

-Measuring Characteristic Features Using the Optical Measuring Machine
With the use of TRITOPCMM equipment, we can measure tasks with tactile 3D coordinate measuring machines, measuring arms or measuring aid. This equipment also does not require any complex and maintenance-intensive hardware.

-3D Digitizing in Tool and Mould making
With the use of ATOS/ TRITOP equipment, we efficiently carry 3D digitizing in tool and mould making process. The production of tool try-out and pilot production is based on CAD data that are finalized by reworking. On the basis of this technology, reworking of the tool is planned and carried out accordingly.

-Automated scanning - ATOS
ATOS is used for scanning products in various industries. For automated scanning for high volumes, ATOS system can be used in combination with a robot or rotary table.

-Quality control in plastic blow molding -ATOS
Plastic blow moulding process is used for manufacturing fuel tanks for cars. ATOS II is used for verifying the production parameters and optimizing the production process.

-3D-digitizing of a X-34 model in a wind tunnel environment - ATOS
ATOS is being used by NASA Langley Research Center for rapid fabrication techniques on order to determine the aerodynamic principles of the designed X-34 model in a wind tunnel environment.
