The Cyclades® ACS 6000 series of advanced console servers integrates cutting edge technologies, adaptive services and secure enterprise communications. They offer IT professionals and network operations center (NOC) personnel the ability to perform secure, remote data center management and out-of-band management of IT assets from anywhere in the world.

Using a hardened Linux® operating system, Cyclades ACS 6000 console servers provide optimal performance, security and reliability. Using DSView® 3 management software and integrated power, they provide a complete out-of-band management solution.

High-performance design and advanced features
The Cyclades ACS 6000 series of advanced console servers features a high-speed processor platform with dual Gigabit-Ethernet ports for redundancy, optional built-in modem and two 16- and 32-bit PC card options. Other benefits include an internal temperature sensor for device level monitoring, and configurable pin-outs for serial ports.

The ACS 6000 series also offers software features to meet the requirements of the most demanding data center management applications. Features include automated discovery tools to ease identification of servers, routers, switches or PBX connected to any serial port. This saves time at initial configuration and installation. To comply with existing data center network access policy, the ACS 6000 console servers provide customizable multiple access levels for secure management.

The ACS 6000 series provides a complete solution for secure remote control with features such as enhanced security, data logging and event monitoring. In addition, the console servers support next generation network standards such as Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6). Available in 16-, 32- and 48-port models, the 6000 series console servers fit in 1U of rack space with single and dual AC and DC power options. With and without modem, the console servers help maximize IT asset productivity, provide scalability and reduce operational costs.

When deployed with DSView® 3 management software, Cyclades ACS console servers offer enterprise and telecommunication environments a complete, centralized management solution.

For seamless power control of managed IT devices, Cyclades ACS console servers easily integrate with Cyclades PM intelligent power distribution units (IPDUs) and selected third-party power products. Supported power products may be centrally managed through DSView 3 software.

Cyclades ACS console servers offer the industry’s first Enhanced Security Framework that provides preset security profiles (secure, moderate and open) and the flexibility for IT managers to customize security profiles to comply with existing network security policies. In addition, Cyclades ACS console servers offer strong authentication technology with One-Time Password (OTP) and Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP), two features that ensure only authorized users gain access to enterprise resources.

Cyclades ACS appliance offers advanced hardware features to meet the requirements of even the most demanding data center management applications. PCMCIA slots allow for enhanced functionality with support for many interface cards, such as modem (V.92 and ISDN), Ethernet, fast Ethernet (fiber optic) and wireless LAN (GSM, CDMA and GPRS). Cyclades ACS appliances also allow for automatic Ethernet failover by using a PCMCIA slot as a second Ethernet port, hence providing Ethernet redundancy. Cyclades® ACS1 advanced console server is a powerful, yet highly compact single-port console server used to connect serial devices to a TCP/IP network. Typical applications include branch office management, console port management, retail automation and IP enabling of legacy serial devices.

Dual PC Card slots allows for enhanced functionality with support for many interface cards, such as Ethernet, modem (V.90, GSM, and ISDN) and wireless LAN.

Cyclades ACS1 console server uses its PowerPC dual CPU to transfer data from its 10/100BT Ethernet interface to its RS-232/RS-485 (software selectable) serial interface and vice versa, enabling communication between the serial device and the network. Cyclades ACS1 console server supports SSHv2 (Secure Shell) for a high degree of security in data connections.

Unlike other console server equipment designed with proprietary software technologies, Cyclades ACS1 console server leverages Embedded Linux and other Open Source software. Users have the flexibility and power to customize its operation, modifying or adding features as needed.
