To kill such germs before allowing water for human consumption, there are several process for disinfecting water.

The use of gas chlorinators for sterilizing water practiced throughout of the world. Chlorination is the most effective and economical way of disinfecting water which makes potable water absolutely safe from water born diseases.

The technique involves mixing chlorine gas and water to form hypochondrias acid. 

Formula :

• CL2 H2O = HOCL HCL

This kills the harmful bacteria and viruses. Usually, 1 Ltr. of water is required for every 0.5 grams of chlorine Gas for making solution. (10M3 water required for 0.005 mg og chlorine gas to get 0.5 ppm cl2 om water.

Precaution :

Moisture Cholrine Gas is very corrosive. So precautions are taken to exclude moisture coming into contact with metallic parts of the Chlorinator, so all parts where gas and water come in contact are made form Rigid PVC which is immune to corrosive action of wet Chlorine gas. Non-Return Valve on the top of the secondary filter will prevent water coming into the filter, it will be collected in the Glass Moisture Tube at the bottom of the filter and can be removed easily when noticed by operator.

Pressure feed Chlorinator is run by Booster Pump and Motor. If electric Power Fails, first close chlorine cylinder to avoid accident problem of Gas leakage is automatically solved by provision of lead or Rubber Washer between large contact areas at all joints.

Permit only trained and responsible personnel to handle chlorine.

For Storage : Keep container away from inflammable materials and keep in clean ventilated area.

Moisture should not enter containers.

Nover force connections that do not fit. Never use hammer to open valve. Use approved equipment.

Vacuum controllers (direct cylinder mounted gas chlorinator) are generally accepted as a very efficient and economical means of rendering water supplies safe to drink and giving protection against water - bone diseases.

Vacuum Chlorinators :

For safety reasons the system widely in use today for the purification of water supplies in a vacuum solution feed gas chlorinator. A vacuum chlorinator is much safer than a pressure chlorinator as any loss of vacuum causes the gas supply to be shut off instantly and automatically.

The principle involves mixing an auxiliary supply of water with chlorine gas. the concentrated solution of chlorine is then injected into the water.

Operation in this way, with the AQUA-ll, provides a very economic means of purifying water suppliers while maintaining a very high degree of safety and reliability.

Method of Operation :

The chlorine regulator can be mounted either on a wall or on top of the gas cylinder or container.

Correct operation depends on obtaining healthy vacuum from the injector. Water flowing through the injector creates a vacuum which opens the inlet valve to admit the gas into the regulator. The injector consists of a vacuum producing venturi and a spring loaded diaphragm check valve. The gas passes through the flow meter and the rate control valve and then to injector where it is throughly  mixed and dissolved in the water and carried to the application point as a solution.

Any vacuum failure automatically shuts off the chlorine gas and ensures that no gas escapes into the atmosphere.

There is an automatic vent to atmosphere if pressure build up in the regulator.

If the source of chlorine gas is exhausted or the gas line plugged and excess vacuum valve in the regulator or the gas supply lines.

Cylinder Strap : The carrying cylinder strap of back plate can also accommodate cylinders of all types/sizes without any modification. The infinitely adjustable camlock mechanism provides a simple, very secure, quick and fail-safe operation.

Back Plate : Made of fibre glass, which is light in weight and has chemical resistance. It is orthopaedically designed in such a manner that weight of the cylinder is put on lower portion giving comfort to the user.
