Plasma Cutting Machines

These machines are used to cut S.S, C.S, Copper, Aluminum, Inconel, Titaniun and other metals. Plasma cutting is a boon for cutting metals like SS, Aluminium which cannot be cut by oxy-acetylene, they react with oxygen to form oxides. The melting point of the oxides is higher then the flame temperature so cutting is not possible. The high velocity Plasma jet temperature is in excess of 20000 Degrees Centigrade which blasts through the metal.
Our Plasma system can be linked with Robots and CNC systems to give completely Automated Cutting Solutions. Plasma cutting machines upto 150 mm Thick plate cutting capacity are available.

PTA Hardfacing & Cladding Systems

PTA or Powder Plasma Arc Welding System is a welding process which uses powder metals which are fed into the Welding Arc to produce a metallurgically sound weld used for Hardfacing, Cladding, Metal Build Up, Reclamation, Protection from Corrosion etc. The powders are standard metals and alloys or proprietory metal alloys like Stellite.

The metals are chosen for the application after taking into account the base metal characteristics and component working life requirements.

  • Advantages of FCAW:

  • It is a process which can be very easily automated to the highest degree, as compared to any other welding process.

  • Deposition efficiency & deposition speed is very high. It has got Very High Electrical efficiency (low heat input)
    FCAW uses spray transfer for deposition of metal to job. All the above results in a very low deformation in the job. It is possible to add alloys through the core (flux) to give the final desire composition. It is possible to work on site/out doors.

    Plasma Welding

    Advantages of plasma welding, Less sensitivity to changes in Arc length.
    Recessed electrode reduces the possibility of tungsten inclusions in the weld and can substantially increase the period between electrode dressings resulting in increased life. Weld in a single pass up to 6 mm plates in square butt position and 10 mm plates in only two passes. Keyhole mode of welding gives smaller heat affected zone resulting in reduced strength loss at the joint for heat treated metals, promotes less grain growth which gives better ductility. Reduced weld time results in less embrittlement by carbides and complex intermetallic compounds for stainless steel and super alloys. Equalization of distortion stresses results in less residual stress. Less filler metal required in keyhole mode significantly reduces porosity. Plasma welding technology is applicable in Automotive, Railways, Ship Construction, Foodstuffs and Chemical Industries, Aerospace Industries, Cryogenics and Pipeline Constructions.

    Hardbanding System

    To optimize wear resistance hard banding is standard on pin and box connections and
    central upset. The heavy duty hard metal is sintered granular tungsten carbide 10/20
    mesh or 20/45 mesh (fine particles). Proprietary alloys designed to protect the casings as well are also available. The hard banding is deposited by an automatic
    machine after pre-heating the pipe and is followed by stress relieving. Plasma gouging and grinding facility is optional along with the Hardbanding System
