E-coat, commonly known as lacquering in different industries is used for giving an extra protection or coating to the finished product. This coating technology is widely used due to its ability to completely coat the complex parts with clarity and uniformity. Besides, e-coat is called as e-coating, electro coating, catophoretic painting and autophoretic coating. In this process, we immerse the parts in a solution present in an electrified tank that possesses the paint. Thereafter, the paint drawn to the parts is changed from ions to solid particles in a similar way as electroplating of metals, due to the addition or subtractions of electrons. Moreover, this coating is very thin and can cover every part of the material because of the electro coated high spots. These spots can be insulated for diverting the current towards the lower spots. |
