About UsArora Matthey Limited was incorporated and established in 1964 as a joint venture collaboration of Johnson Matthey plc, U.K., world leaders in the field of advanced technology in Noble Metals. The Manufacturing facility is located at Kolkata in an area of over two acres and has been the centre point of all its progress and developments in the last four decades. The Company is continuously striving for excellence in all its activities related to Precious Metal products.
During this period, the Company has expanded the facilities for various Catalytic and Chemical products, Metallurgical and Mechanical - Melting, Rolling, Extrusion, Wire & Tube Drawing, Gauze Weaving & Knitting, Fabrication & Forming - Powder Metallurgy, Refining & Recovery and other manufactures of Platinum Group metal products. The product portfolio now embraces diverse range of precious metal items. The term Precious Metals refers to Gold (Au), Silver (Ag) and Platinum Group Metals (PGM) - Platinum (Pt), Palladium (Pd), Rhodium (Rh), Ruthenium (Ru), Iridium (Ir) and Osmium (Os).
AML has also added Platinum based Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) in its range and has obtained GMP certification for manufacture of Platinum based anti-cancer drugs. AML also markets research chemicals of Alfa Aesar in India.
During this period of forty fruitful years, the growth of Arora Matthey in the field of Precious Metal Products has been quite phenomenal. The Company, commenced its operation with a modest share capital of around Rs. 2.50 million, has now a subscribed and paid up capital of nearly Rs.20.00 million. The Company has continuously and without interruption made profits in the last four decades of its operation and has distributed handsome dividends to both the Resident Shareholders (Arora Family) and Foreign Shareholders (Johnson Matthey plc., U.K.). For the achievements of excellence in quality and environment and also to meet the challenges of the new millennium, the Company has been accredited with ISO 9001-2000 and ISO 14001-1996 Certification.

Apart from the conventional analysis methods like gravimetric, volumetric etc, AML has established itself in the QMS with large investments in sophisticated apparatus like Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, Karl-Fisher Auto Electronic Titrator Inductively Coupled Plasma - Optical Emission Spectrometer (ICP-OES), High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), X-Ray Spectrometer etc.
