About UsArtech was started up in 1973, designing and manufacturing special-purpose electronic instruments and other professional electronic equipment for a wide variety of customers and applications. From 1980 onwards the orientation shifted towards standard products, while custom design operations continued. Today, Artech has strong design capabilities and applications know-how, backed by in-house manufacturing, in specialized temperature instrumentation, industrial gas analyzers, and humidity measurement.
, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd., Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Hindustan Lever Ltd., SiArtech was founded in Bombay (now Mumbai) in 1973 by a group of US trained electronic engineers to meet the special needs of Indian industries and other users of scientific and professional electronic equipment. The range of products developed was wide and varied, as were the customers and applications. These included IBM India, Indian Space Research Organisation, Indian Institute of Geomagnetismemens (India) Ltd., besides a host of others.
Artech did some of the outsourced printed circuit layout work for ugradation of IBM India''s computers in the early 1970''s. For many years the Digital Time Standards designed and manufactured by Artech generated the time signals for All India Radio (Bombay), and were used by the Indian Navy to calibrate shipboard chronometers. Siemens (India) Ltd. used Artech Millivolt Calibrators to calibrate temperature instruments manufactured by them. The Indian Institute of Geomagetism used Proton Precession Magnetometers manufactured by Artech for accurate geomagnetic measurements.
Some of the products developed by Artech found wider markets beyond the customers for who they were originally developed, resulting in Artech''s standard product operations, started in 1980. As a consequence of activities in custom-designed electronic equipment, Artech developed and manufactured specialized electronic instruments that now form the mainstay of our operations: specialized temperature instrumentation, industrial gas analyzers, and humidity measurement. |
