Aspectum's background : Customer relationship marketing became a hot topic in the 1990’s. People from the Nordic countries were in the forefront researching this topic. One of them was Aspectum’s founder Prof Jarmo R. Lehtinen, PhD Prof Lehtinen brought together his research in a management book which was published in 1997: “Customer Relationship Management - Creating competitive advantage through win-win relationship strategies" The main content of the book is a new thinking model - customer relations oriented thinking. The book was awarded with the Pro Oeconomia award in 1998 and the best marketing book in 2001. The book has been translated into ten languages
