Founded in 1965 by Late Mr Avtar Singh Kohli, the brand 'ASTEC' saw its first light of the day in a small engineering workshop of a remote suburb in Mumbai. Year 2002, a firm named 'Associated Techno enterprises' with conventional machines today has grown to 'Astec Instruments Pvt Ltd' & 'Astec Valve & Fitting Company' with CNC machines adopting the best Quality systems.
The Indian industry was in its infant stage. Most looked at India as a country of snake charmers, Maharajas on elephant, small villages with well water support and so forth. Little did we expect that this nation would one day emerge as a major player in the world economy. Today one of the major oil, power and fertilizer plants amongst the other projects are commissioned and churning high profits on this Asian sub-continent
ASTEC has played a very significant role in the last 30 years of our industry development. It was with limited resources this company accepted the challenge of developing high quality SS316 Compression Tube Fittings, Needle, Manifold, Ball Valves amongst other products for the Instrumentation and Piping industry in India.
The products were first developed for a group of research scientist of the Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC), a premier versatile, technological and multi-disciplinary nuclear research center of India. ASTEC products were extensively used on most research reactors specially DHRUVA representing the most significant engineering achievements of India.
Today we have the world's mega plant operators, engineering consultants, Instrument / Original Equipment manufacturers having their base in India. An interesting fact remains. Not only did these giants prefer using ASTEC as the best alternate to the best international brands they were used to, but have now continued this trend in other countries too

Few of stringent tests available and periodically conducted are the Burst Pressure, Vibration cum Pressure Impulse, Vacuum, Thermal Cycling, Make Remake, Helium Leak Test, etc. As a general practice all our valves are 100 per cent Factory Tested
Statistical Process Control
TYPE I : PREVENTION OF CAUSES
In these type of controls causes are prevented before it start affecting the process.
e.g. Mistake Proofing. To achieve Zero defect these type of controls are required.
TYPE II : DETECTION OF CAUSES & LEAD TO CORRECTIVE ACTION
In these type of controls causes are prevented from occurring instead it s presence is identified and Demands actions to eliminate the cause. e.g. Statistical process control, Visual Control.
TYPE III : DETECTION OF DEFECTS
In these type of controls Defects are detected not prevented.
e.g. 100% Inspection, Sampling Inspection.
Statistical Process Control :- The use of Statistical techniques such as control charts to analyze a process or it’s outputs so as to take appropriate actions to achieve and maintain a state of statistical control and to improve the process capability. Statistical process control is an economical way of controlling the process .
