About UsWrAps design house was conceptualized in the month of January '99 by introducing a showcase exhibition of hand-embroidered saris coupled with co-coordinated blouses. The first exhibition followed by many more. And as of today I am backed with approximately 50 successful exhibitions Started of with one freelance embroidery workshop consisting of 8 craftsmen. Build a production capacity of 5 to 6 embroidery workshops in Bombay and a couple others in different cities. Presently operate from Self owned workshop / production unit at Warden Road
The uniqueness of my work lies in the combinations, creations and application of different forms of embroidery. Using a various embroidery materials right from jewels, gemstones, swarovski, thread and cord combinations, antique and oxidized combined with metallic and matt sequin and beads. All combinations created within the realms of good craftsmen from all over the country. My range ususally consists of single pieces per design with a couple of colour options, in order to give the customer the privilege of ordering an outfit by changing embroidery, fabric or colour palette, therefore making custom made ensembles exclusive to their wardrobe only.
Introduced as a Debutant designer amongst India's leading designers at the Raymond Show 2001. Introduction of fusion wear and sari blouses in suiting material provided by Raymond. That was the add on of women ethnic and fusion couture and prêt along with saris. |
Events ParticipationAparna Suneja's WrAps Design House recognizes that each woman is an individual. Aparna thus endeavours to create an ensemble that is unique to the woman who wears it, custom made to suit her only.
Aparna has acquired her learning from already established designers who display their collections at her family's Aashirwaad Art Gallery. Watching the other designers from up close, inspired Aparna Suneja to present a collection of her own. A collection she successfully showcased last year opened many avenues for this self taught designer. She observed that though many customers did purchase the displayed clothes, a few had their own suggestions for alteration.
This lead Aparna Suneja to believe that every woman desires her clothes tailored to her exclusive preferences. WrAps aims at that by presenting sarees coupled with co-ordinate blouses in fabrics ranging from soft pastel nets to sheer chiffons and georgettes, crepes and satins. Each piece has been embellished with zardozi or resham work, studded with diamante crystal or precious stones, sequins and beads.
