PRINCETON, N.J. March 15, 2011 —Zycus, a world leader in Spend Management Solutions, announced today that Liberty University, Lynchburg, Va., has selected its Contract Management and eSourcing Solutions.
“As a university, we have grown several fold in the last decade and our internal systems have struggled to keep up with that growth,” observes Greg Johnson, Director of Purchasing for Liberty.
While the University has rules, based on dollar amounts, for when competitive bidding events must be executed, the process has typically been driven manually at the stakeholder level. “We have substantial spend categories that can be better managed through an effective procurement tool,” Johnson says. As the Zycus iSource solution enables both procurement control and easy collaboration with spend stakeholders, Johnson anticipates that, procurement will be running “as many as several thousand” bidding events per year in such categories as printing, promotional items, catering, construction, and MRO. “We are still working to manage our rapid growth and change. iSource should aid us in establishing roadmaps to do so. In the longer term, our suppliers will know that we expect them to deliver value through the iSource tool.”
