Special Features

• Sufficiently more output: The Still yields an output of 4 Ltr/hr of distilled water for a Power consumption of 3kw through a metal heater (chromium plated), which is mounted inside a horizontal Glass Boiler.
  
• The output temperature of the Still is 30° C to 40° C (approx) which is taken care by efficient cooling by coiled  Borosilicate condenser.
  
• The unit has two portions, one Boiler and the other Condenser.
  
• The unit is mounted on a sturdy metal stand.
  
• The Boiler is provided with TEFLON screw cork for easy cleaning of the boiler.

Quality of Distillate: Best for general laboratory usage.

• The Conductivity of Water is Approx.1.5 to 2.5 M-cm
• pH 5-6 Pyrogen free
  
• The above quality of distillate is obtained by using treated water as boiler feed.

"LAB-SIL" Water Distiller : OPTI - S (Silica Heater)

Special Features:

• Sufficient output: The Still yields an output of 1.5 Ltr/hr of distilled water for a power consumption of 1.25 kw through a Silica heater which is mounted inside a horizontal Glass Boiler.
  
• The output temperature of the distillate is 30° C to 40° C (approx) which is taken care by efficient cooling by coiled Borosilicate condenser.
  
• The unit has two portions, one Boiler and the other Condenser.
  
• The unit is mounted on a strudy metal stand.
  
• The Silica heater is provided with B29 silicon rubber sleeves which makes the cleaning of the Boiler easy.
  
• The Boiler can be cleaned with water as well as with acids for maintenance, which is an advantage of Silica heater.
  
• The above quality of distillate is obtained by using treated water as Boiler feed.
  
• All rubber tube connections can be made with threaded connectors.

Quality of Distillate: Best for General Laboratory usage.

The conductivity of water is Approx. 1.5 - 2 M-cm

 

• The pH of distillate is 5.5 to 6. Pyrogen free
  
• The unit when used in series, i.e. the output of first unit will be the input of the second unit, the distillate obtained from it is double distilled water with better Conductivity and pH.

The OPTI-MXL4 yields an output of 4 ltrs /hr distilled water. The Distiller gives PYROGEN FREE output which is best suited for daily use in laboratories.

The unique Designed Glass portion enables optimum efficiency in distillate yield. A built- in 'clean' function and integral funnel makes cleaning operation simple and safe. A stopcock with PTFE key is fitted for easy draining.

All hose connections are threaded hence easy and safe for connecting and removal, thereby reducing the risk of breakages.

A special failsafe devise is embedded in the heater system, which ensures sufficient water level in the boiler and control over temperature in heater.

Note:

The pH of distilled water:

Pure water whether from a still, deionizer or reverse osmosis system, is an excellent solvent and will quickly absorbs carbon dioxide from the air to form a very dilute solution of carbonic acid. In a water still this solution can form as the steam liquefies in the condenser resulting in a distillate output of pH of 5 - 6.5. This is a normal level which has little effect on most laboratory procedures.

A slightly acidic pH value does not mean that water is contaminated as the carbon dioxide level of less than one part per million will cause a pH of 5.

It is vital to protect the water from the air otherwise the carbon dioxide will be absorbed quickly.
