Types of Needle Roller Bearings

Drawn cup needle roller bearings:These needle roller bearings have a deep thin walled outer ring with open or closed ends. These bearings have a very low sectional height and have high load carrying capacity. They are used when a very compact arrangement is required and the housing bore cannot be used as a raceway. These drawn cup needle roller bearings are directly used on the shaft. Drawn cup needle roller bearings with closed ends:These drawn cup are manufactured of hardened steel sheet, needle roller and cage assembly form a non-separable unit. There drawn cup needles have a large lubricant space. Generally, they have only a single row of rollers but some may have two-needle roller and cage assemblies adjacent to each other with the lubricating hole in the outer ring. With and without inner rings:These are rubbing of polyurethane or nitride rubber(NBR).Superior quality of lithium base grease is used in them. They are a substitute for seals. The raceways of the shaft must have the hardness and the surface should have a normal finish in order to maximize the load carrying capacity.

Needle Roller Bearings Specifications & Standards

• Dimensions - The boundary dimensions of the drawn cup needle roller bearings are in accordance with ISO
• Bore Size - Its size is measured in millimeters. The bore is a hollow cylindrical chamber or barrel shaped where the metal balls are placed.

We offer needle bearing rollers that have high length to diameter ratio. These bearings have the highest load bearing capacity for a given radial space of all rolling bearings. These needle bearings have no retainers. Loose needle bearings are full complement of needles in the annular space between two hardened machine components, which form the bearing raceways. Oil based lubricants are used to adds to the durability and smoothness. They bearings provide a bearing assembly with moderate capability and are sensitive to misalignment. They are commonly used in farm construction equipment, gasoline engines, gear pumps and small appliances.

We also offer caged assemblies, which are roller arrangement with a retainer. The retainer is placed between two hardened elements that act as raceways. The speed capabilities of caged assemblies is better than that of loose -needle bearings, but due to the smaller compliment of needles, the load capacity of these caged assemblies reduces.

We manufacture drawn cup, full-compliment needle bearings in NA / NK/ NKI and NKIS types. They have a deep-drawn cup with a full compliment of needles. In a few needle bearings, the needles are retained by the cup lips and in the others they are retained by grease. In the grease -retained needle bearings , we generally use spherical -ended rollers. Drawn cup needles have higher speeds and reduced load bearing capacity. They are a good tolerant to for misalignment. These heavy- duty needle bearings have a heavy outer ring which increases load capacity. The rollers are cylindrical rather than being tapered and hence problem of slippage is faced between the roller and raceway surfaces.

We manufacture needle roller thrust bearings for heavy axial loads. They are advantageous as they require minimum axial space and a stiff arrangement. These thrust bearings can accommodate one direction axial loads. A unique feature of these thrust bearings is that the roller cage and raceways can all be separated and combines with washers of various designs. Needle roller and cage thrust assemblies consists of a cage that guides and retains large number of needle rollers. The rollers have cylindrical surfaces which are relieved towards the end, so that there is an even distribution of load and the edges are prevented from damage.

Bearing Washers
The raceway washers are manufactured from hardened carbon chromium (rolling bearing) steel. They are ground ; the bore and the outside diameter are turned. They can be used both as a shaft and housing washers for bearing arrangements.

Thrust washers are manufactured from spring steel. They are hardened and polished. The thrust washers enable bearing arrangements where the adjacent machine components cannot be used as raceways, but they do have adequate stiffness. Shaft and housing washers are required for accurate centering of the bearing washers and high speed applications.

Needle roller and cage thrust assemblies include a form-stable steel cage or sheet steel as a standard. The assemblies that are identified by designation TN and have injection molded cage of glass fiber reinforced polymide 6,6 are an exception.
