Jamrosa is a grass hybrid - Cymbopogon nardus var. confertiflorus x Cymbopogon jwarancusa. Jamarosa essential oil is most commonly used as a natural fragrance compound. Jamrosa oil consists of geraniol and geranyl acetate.The oil has a rosy-grassy odour with a terpenic bynote, which is not so sweet rosy as palmarosa oil Jamrosa oil has been traditionally used as a perfumery compound when requiring a rose character.

Palmarosa oil is extracted from cymbopogon martini (a.k.a. Cymbopogon martinii var. martinii) from the Gramineae family and also known as East Indian and Turkish geranium as well as Indian Rosha and Motia.
Palmarosa Oil is steam distilled or water distilled mainly from wild growing, fresh or dried grass of the plant Cymbopogon Martini, varietas motia. The grass grows wild in India, particularly northeast of Bombay toward the Himalaya mountains, Nepal and to a lesser extent, in Pakistan. The grass has been planted in the Seychelle islands and in the Comoro islands in the Indian Ocean. Palmarosa Oil is a pale yellow or pale olive liquid with a sweet, floral rosy odor and various backnotes or topnotes according to the quality and age of the oil. Palmarosa oil blends well with all the conventional soap perfume materials and it forms an excellent base with small amounts of geranium oil and oakmoss concrete or absolute. Combinations with cananga oil, bois de rose oil, amyris oil, guaiacwood oil make good bases for soap perfumes. The name Geranium Palmarosa is a carryover from the days when palmarosa oil was used as an adulterant for Turkish rose oil and was imported into Turkey for that purpose as geranium palmarosa.

Mentha oil is derived from a plant named Mentha arvensis or japanese mint. It is a long lasting, quick growing, hairy leaved herb. ‘Mentha’, actually, is a Latin name for ‘mint’. With the help of steam distillation process, mentha oil is obtained from the fresh leaves of that plant followed by the separation of menthol from it.

Menthol is the major derivative product of mentha oil. Majority of the oil is converted into menthol, which is so important that it is even considered as one the basic uses of mint oil. It is extracted through a complex process that involves cooling of the oil slowly, which turns the oil into crystal form and then it is centrifuged and dried to attain a yellow colored substance called menthol. This oil like substance is often required by the medicine industry and it is used in balms, cough drops, inhalers, toothpastes, mouthwashes etc. Around 40% to 50% menthol and around 50% to 60% dementholized oil is obtained from mentha oil in the production process of menthol. Dementholized oil is used in confectioneries and peppermint oil.
