About UsBalaji Industrial and Agricultural Castings has three decades of experience and has pioneered the manufacture of various models of handpumps and drilling equipment.
We have achieved the status of a major manufacturer and largest exporter of hand pumps. In recognition of export performance on a national level we have been awarded on numerous occasions.
Water is an essential necessity for human survival. Throughout history, mankind has utilized various sources of water such as rivers, lakes and surface wells but the purest most reliable source of water is the deep well.
Balaji Industrial & Agricultural Castings is one of the pioneering companies in the manufacture of deep well hand pumps and water supply projects. Backed by international organizations like UNICEF, Balaji has participated in the design, development and manufacture of hand pumps - from the primitive models of Double Guide And Jalna type to the present highly efficient India mark II.
Over the past three decades, Balaji has manufactured and sold more than a million pumps. This exceptional record has been the result of its commitment to consistent and reliable quality.
We have extensive experience in laying pipelines under water near seashores, and also in riverbeds. These projects involve the use of PVC Pipes, HDPE Pipes, AC Pipes and MS Pipes.
We have expertise in laying pipelines 60 feet below ground level in sand and river beds, and have also been involved in the construction of treatment plants, filter beds and SS tanks.
In the past 10 years we have successfully completed various schemes in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and in Maharashtra. At present one scheme is in progress in Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh, with an approximate value of US $ 3,500,000.
We are now in the process of developing Domestic Water Treatment Plants.
We have been supplying our pumps to almost all the state governments in India besides exporting to various countries and to other multinational organisations. Our pumps have been tested at the Consumer Association Testing and Research Lab, Harpenden, Hertfordshire, England, UK, and have proved to be amongst the highest in quality.
As a part of our research and development programs, we have designed and developed FORCE LIFT PUMPS (power operated) that can lift water to the height of 30 feet. These pumps can be operated manually when there is no power. We have installed a prototype pump on our factory premises and trial tested it for over a million strokes. This pump was developed under the advice and guidance of UNICEF & crown agents.
In mid 1995, Balaji Inddustrial & Agricultural Castings set up a manufacturing base in Lagos, Nigeria in the name of Unipumps Nigeria Limited. This facility had an initial capacity of 1000 pumps per month to cater to the rising demand for handpumps in the African continent. Unipumps Nigeria Limited is the only firm approved by UNICEF and supplies UNICEF in almost all the West African countries. The present production of pumps is now 10 times greater than initially and the accumulated value of the contract with the Nigerian government is presently at N 560 million. |
