Quality Assurance Manual:

The quality assurance manual is designed to frame the controls and systems that need to be followed while manufacturing pipe fittings viz butt welded socket welded and threaded series. This works as an audit mechanism that will be in operation throughout the manufacturing process, so that end-product is in conformation with the various national and international quality standards, and also are in accordance with the specifications provided by our clients.

Our quality control engineers maintain records of all the inspections and tests carried by inspection engineer who stringently adhere to the quality assurance manual and conduct several chemical and physical tests as per the laid codes and norms.

Material Control System:

We purchase all the raw material directly from the mills or from authorized dealers. The entire raw material is checked for optimum quality on visual and dimensional parameters. The raw material is checked with the test certificate provided by the manufacturer to check the quality of each lot as per the applicable codes for obtaining satisfactory chemical report. A batch number is assigned and punched on each lot.

Process Control System:

The raw material might be in the form of pipes, plate, rod, forgings, billets and others. Before cutting the material, a batch number is allotted on every single piece that is cut from the parent material. After forging, each piece is re-stamped in case the batch number is not visible.

Testing:

Mentioned below are some of the parameters on which our quality control engineers check the quality of our range of steel pipe fittings:

• Tensile Test: A test to check the tensile strength is performed on a sample or test coupon from fitting or starting material as per the specification as desired by our clients. all the tests are performed in third party approved labs and the physical report of the product is mentioned in the material certificates issued to the clients.
• Hardness Test: A sample of each lot or batch is checked for hardness (10% materials from each heat treatment batch). We have an in-house hardness machine that is calibrated periodically by calibration agency. The results obtained are documented and incorporated in certification.

Heat Treatment:

According to the applicable specifications of a particular product, heat treatment is performed on it. This treatment is done on the basis of each lot defined on the parameters of size type and wall thickness. Also, lest coupon is also treated for heat alongwith the material for each lot / batch. The furnace for heat treatment is fitted with thermocouples and temperature recorder, in order to get a precise record of time temperature graph. To help in further analysis, the thermocouples are periodically calibrated by reputed inspection agency / calibration house. We maintain a complete documented record of time temperature graph for future reference.

Machining and Dimensional Control:

The machining process is carried out as per the requisite dimensional specifications and ample templates and fixtures are maintained to guide the dimensions required. We make use of accurate measuring instruments to check various dimensions during the machining. To check the ID & OD of fittings, GO and NOGO gauges are used. Thereafter, the fittings are debarred. The threaded fittings are checked with the help of thread gauge. To ensure the dimensional stability, all template fixtures and gauges are regularly checked.

Finishing:

In order to remove any surface scale during heat treatment, all filling are thoroughly cleaned. All stainless steel fitting are pickled and passivated and an appropriate concentrate of solution is maintained, followed by coating of fillings with rust preventive for protection against corrosion.
