Bal Pharma Unit - 2, is involved in the manufacturing of APIs. All activities connected with production of bulk actives are carried out here. A well-equipped R&D laboratory, a good Kilo laboratory and quality control facilities form the other spheres of activity here. A well-trained team of about 40 personnel man the different departments of the facility.
Many of the processes that have been developed in the laboratory have been scaled up and have attained bulk production levels. or export of Gliclazide to Europe,Bal Pharmas facility has obtained the approval from Europes EDQM and the Certificate of Suitability has been received.
Over the years, we have gained experience in carrying out different kinds of reactions, a concise list of which is appended at the end. At our facility the emphasis has been on producing important high value-low volume category of drugs and their intermediates. Our expertise in benzodiazepinones, steroidal drugs, nutraceuticals, antidepressants,antihistamines and cardiovascular drugs has been well recognised. We now are making an initial foray into the chiral molecule segment; stereospecific synthesis is on the agenda.
The API products are being exported to Japan, Australia, Spain, UK, Canada, Nigeria, Iceland, Slovenia, Romania, Argentina, Brazil, Pakistan, Germany, South Africa, Serbia, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey, Egypt, Korea, Venezuela, Italy, Portugal, Morocco, Poland, Netherlands, Syria, Bangladesh, and Indonesia etc.

The manufacturing facility is approved by the Ministry of Health Ethiopia , MCAZ-Zimbabwe , Tanzania Food and Drug Authority and the plant is awaiting approval from Kenya - Pharmacy and Poisons Board, Ministry of Health Malawi .
