MA DANTESWARI
Dantewada is a famous religious place of worship in Bastar region of Chattisgarh. Ma Danteswari temple at Dantewada is situated at the meeting place of rivers Shankini and Dankini
Ma Danteswari is the presiding deity of Dantewada. Ma Danteswari is very famous God almighty of Bastar people. Also people take darshan (Visit) of Ma Danteswari from far off of Chattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, West Bengal and Maharastra.
The darshan starts in early morning hours of about 6.30 AM and continues up to about 8.00PM.Aarati is given twice a day , once in the morning and once in the evening.
Dussera festival celebrations are very famous in Dantewada and also in Jagadalpur during which thousands of people worship Ma Danteswari at both places. People walk from their native places of the neighborhood to Dantewada during this period and take the darshan of Ma Danteswari for fulfilling their wishes. It will be definitely a memorable moment to take the darshan of Ma Danteswari during Dusshera.
CHITRAKOT FALLS
Chitrakot Water falls is situated at about 40 Kms from Jagadalpur. The gigantic and elegant falls is on River Indravathi. The height of the falls is about 1000 feet. One can enjoy the sight of the falls from the top and also from the foot, at water level with boating. It is one of the major attractions of Bastar. Take care of yourself and children while visiting water falls.
TIRATGARH FALLS
Tiratgarh falls is located at about 35 Kms from Jagadalpur. This is very nice outing spot to spend with family. The height of the falls is about 300 Feet. The falls is worth seeing and we can enjoy the falls from very near place. Take care of yourself and children while visiting water falls.
KUTUMSAR CAVES
It is not possible to explain the experience of visiting Kutumsar caves, which are located about 40 Kms from Jagadalpur. They are unique of their kind. Here we find Stalactites and Stalagmites in beautiful and fantastic formations which we found only in this area.
The best period to visit the caves is between November and April.
No body should go inside the caves without a guide (with a hand light) provided by forest department. Take care of yourself and children while visiting the caves.
How to reach there ;-
Dantewada is 386 Kms from capital of Chattisgarh i.e. Raipur. Frequent bus services are available from Raipur to Jagadalpur and Dantewada.
Dantewada is about 400 Kms from Visakhapatnam (A.P). Both train and bus services are available from Visakhapatnam to Jagadalpur and Dantewada.
Train ;-
The only train No I VK starts from Visakhapatnam to Dantewada at 6.30 AM from Visakhapatnam . The train journey will be simply unforgettable because of its route through about 58 tunnels up to Jagadalpur and also the beautiful hills and valleys en route. Also Andhra Pradesh’s famous tourist place Araku Valley is in between Visakhapatnam and Jagadalpur. One can take a stop at Araku valley for a day to visit the local places including Borra caves and proceed to Jagadalpur next day also. The train reaches Araku valley around 12.30 Noon and Jagadalpur around 6.30.P.M.
The Bus ;-
The bus starts from Visakhapatnam at about 8.00 PM and reaches Jagadalpur by about 6.00 A.M. One has to take advance reservation (At OSRTC counter at APSRTC bus stand and also private bus services out side bus stand for Jagadalpur) for comfortable journey.

Stay ;-
It is better to stay at Jagadalpur as it is convenient to visit Dantewada and other major attractions of Bastar like Chitrakot falls, Tiratgarh falls and Kutumsar caves from there.
