A thermoplastic is a plastic that melts to a liquid when heated and freezes to a brittle, very glassy state when cooled sufficiently. Most thermoplastics are high-molecular-weight polymers whose chains associate through weak Van der Waals forces (polyethylene); stronger dipole-dipole interactions and hydrogen bonding (nylon); or even stacking of aromatic rings (polystyrene).

It shows a high mechanical strength, tensile strength but low notched impact strength, resist cracking and easy to weld. Chemical & electrical properties are very good. It is of low density, good heat resistant, high chemical resistant and food safe. It is used in field like valves, seals, fabricated items.

These two Polyolefin’s offers resistance to almost all acid and bases, detergent and hot water. It is easy to weld.
