India is well known as an agricultural hub. Considering the most important need of the Indian farmers we have come up with an innovative product which is the Israel formula and a 100% Organic product. BCM Agrotech is come up with a motive to bring awareness in the Indian farmers about Organic Farming.
The progress of organic agriculture in India is very slow. We are able to convert only 41,000 ha of area so far, which is a mere 0.03 percent of the cultivated area. These figures should be compared to 2,58,500 ha (11.30 per cent) of Austria, 1,02,999 ha (9.70 per cent) of Switzerland, 1,83,000 ha (7.94 per cent) of Italy, 6,32,165 ha (3.70 per cent) of Germany and 9,50,000 ha (0.23 per cent) of USA. Organic Farming has progressed to cover about 23 million hectares of land all over the world.
The conventional farming had helped India not only to produce enough food for own consumption but also generated surpluses for exports. However, the increasing population and income will lead to further increases in demand for food and also for raw materials for industry. The modern system of farming, it is increasingly felt, is becoming unsustainable as evidenced by declining crop productivities, damage to environment, chemical contaminations, etc. Adverse effects of modern agricultural practices not only on the farm but also on the health of all living things and thus on the environment have been well documented all over the world. The necessity of having an alternative agriculture method which can function in a friendly eco-system while sustaining and increasing the crop productivity is realized now. Organic farming is recognized as the best known alternative to the conventional agriculture.
The relatively high success of organic farming in some countries are due to the high awareness of the health problems caused by the consumption of contaminated food products, the ill effects of environment degradation, appropriate supports by the government and organizations like the European Union and International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM).
India's productivity of many crops is the lowest in the world in spite of the increase in the conventional input use. The decline in soil nutrients, particularly in areas where the chemical inputs are increasingly being used in the absence of adequate organic matter is cited as a reason for low productivity. Organic farming is completely safe and does not produce harmful chemical compounds in the food. Organic fertilizers do not need huge quantities of water to activate its molecules and it does not have any harmful effects on farm, farm produce and on the environment. Organic farming is healthier than any other type of farming.
Organic farming refers to means of farming that does not involve usage of chemicals such as chemical fertilizers and chemical pesticides. Numerous small farmers have been practicing organic farming; however, since they are unaware of the market opportunities they are not able to reap the benefits of organic farming. Thus organic farming is very important for the Indian Farmers. |
