About UsOur concern has a remarkable beginning ¿ when Sri Narasingha Bera (18th August¿1942 -15th June¿2004), at the age of just seventeen started running a small cycle repairing shop in an isolated village area. Through his noble thinking, strong determination, customer orientation and a great deal of hard work, he started a small business in the neighborhood town of Jhargram, Paschim Midnapore, West Bengal, India, in the name of Bera Cycle Stores in the early 60¿s. But in the early 80¿s Sri Narasingha Bera discovered some business capabilities in his younger brother Sri Gour Gopal Bera. Seeing the business prospect he wanted his brother to stay in business. Hence everything went in his favor and the entire business seemed to be more intensified than ever before when Sri Gour Gopal Bera came forward to share the responsibility. As soon as the business started taking the shape of a better trade, the giants of the bicycle makers like Hero, TI, Atlas and Avon came forward to approve their respective dealerships. As a result the whole business setup grew up in quick succession and Bera Cycle Stores became one of the leading distributor/dealer of most of the renowned companies of bicycles, spares and accessories not only in the state but also across the country. Happenings / News / Press CoverageSustainability and Healthy Development of Indian cities have been primarily attributed to the inadequacy of infrastructure and availability of services . National Urban Transport Policy (NUTP) was launched mid-2006 by the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD) as part of the roadmap to meet this exigency. Some of the vital initiatives in this regards leads to a significant departure from traditional urban transport practices in Indian cities, as the needs of the majority of the population using public transport and non motorized modes are now at the forefront.
Aim / Vision / MissionVision By recognizing that people occupy center-stage in our cities; and all plans should be for their common benefit and well being By incorporating urban transportation as an important parameter at the urban planning stage rather than a consequential requirement; Bringing about a more equitable allocation of road space with people rather than vehicles as its main focus; Encouraging a greater use of public transport and non-motorized modes Promoting the use of cleaner technologies
