Happenings / News / Press CoverageNews Bhansali Engineering to raise ABS capacity Turn around at Bhansali Engineering Polymers, plans major expansion It is a turn around story . Bhansali Engineering Polymers Ltd., for the 9 months period ended on 31st March 2005 carries its good performance of the first two quarters in to this quarter also in terms of production , sales and profitability. It has increased its production volume by 135%, sales volume by 152%, sales value by 212%, profit before tax by Rs.1479.83 lakh and profit after deferred tax by Rs.1249.37 lakh. This is an achievement in spite of the wild fluctuation in the global monomer prices (inputs) and ABS (output) markets. BEPL also announced its first ever dividend of 10%. The company continues to remain focused on using appropriate technology to upgrade and modernize its internal processes. The company has completed the implementation of an ERP Package (my SAP) and consolidated its operations at two locations i.e. at Satnoor (MP) for intermediate product and at Abu road (Rajasthan) for final product. The company further plans to concentrate its entire production facility of ABS to a single location from the existing two locations. This will substantially reduce the cost of operations and will further reduce the logistics costs also. The company has plans to expand its capacity to 60,000 TPA from existing 48,000 TPA by 31st March, 2006 and is also gearing up to implement a major expansion plan to achieve an overall 2,00,000 TPA capacity by 2007. It is also entering in to SBR Latex business in the next financial year with a small capacity of 4,000 TPA at their intermediate manufacturing plant at Satnoor, which will be subsequently expanded to 40,000 TPA by 2007, simultaneous with the commissioning of their large ABS plant on integrated manufacturing basis at Abu Road. With ambitious expansion plans to manufacture ABS with a capacity of 2,00,000. TPA from 2007 onwards, BEL is poised to be the number one ABS manufacturer in India.
