Business International (BI) was instituted in 1992 in Chennai by a group of professional engineers. The company markets pumps and provides services for transfer of liquids both domestic and commercial.

In the year 2000, BI marketing activities were taken over by BI Marketing & Services Private Ltd. (BIMS), while BI Systems and Services (BISS) handled their service activities. The company has become the largest distributor for Grundfos pumps in India in less than a decade of operation.
