We at bio cover laboratories are processing of amino-care. (dry amniotic membrane) which is derived from placentae of healthy mothers who are sero-negative for HIV, VDRL and hepatitis. It is sterilised by gamma radiation at isomed, bhabha atomic research centre, Mumbai. Amniotic membrane is used in variety of ophthalmic & other conditions. Advantages of amino-care over wet amniotic membrane. Can be stored at room temperature, no need to maintain the cold chain. . Sterility is ensured as the product is gamma-irradiated. . Can be easily cut into various sizes and shape so as to conform to the lesion. . Can be easily sutured or glued with fibrin glue. . Long shelf life of 3 years.
