About UsBioRe India Limited is an Indian service and trading company located close to the river Narmada in Madhya Pradesh. It procures and sells biodynamic (certified organic) cotton. BioRe India supports local farmers in growing cotton following biodynamic farming principles. It buys the production directly from the farmers, has it ginned and sells it to the Eurotex, a spinning mill located at Kolapur in. The cotton yarn is then sold to the Swiss Maharashtra trading company "Remei AG" or to its approved customers. Along with cotton food crops eg. Wheat, Maize, Soybean, Pigeon pea and ground nut are grown. A potential for their marketing exists. BioRe is the starting point of the BioRe chain, a unique international network for the production and distribution of quality textiles fulfilling the strictest ecological and social requirements. BioRe India works in partnership with farmers and customers to promote sustainability in the agriculture. It shows farmers efficient ways to grow cotton without chemicals, thus maintaining the soil's fertility, keeping water clean and costs low. Farmers enjoy a better health and a higher income. Rural migration is reduced. In the year 2004, 263 farmers have been made shareholders of the company and two Farmers are sitting on the Board of the company since the year 2003. 19 employees became the share holder of the company in year 2005. |
