Applications

Bluecoat 9009 is recommended for durable finish with a stiff handle on textiles of all kinds. There is no loss of fight fastness or yellowing of the finished fabric.

Finish produced, incorporating Bluecoat 9009 is not affected by change in weather conditions. Bluecoat 9009 is generally applied by padding. They may, however, also be applied on the winch the jig, the vat or by spraying onto the goods, in high concentrations, or in combination with products of high viscosity, the squeegee may be used.

The temperature of the liquor should be between 20-70 C depending on the wetting capacity of the goods. In the case of woven articles which for reasons of economy, are not given a subsequent finish, Bluecoat 9009 m ay be applied in the size.

To obtain homogeneous dispersion, very little quantity of water is added in the product, in portions while thoroughly pasting and mixing. After obtaining uniform dilution. It can further be diluted as desired.

The liquor should be stirred from time to time since Bluecoat 9009 tends to settle out. Bluecoat 9009 can also be used in permanent finishing liquors and together with various waterproofing agents. As the composition of these agents vary, preliminary experiments to test their compatibility with Bluecoat 9009 should be carried out. The product can also be applied in neutral or slightly alkaline solutions.

After the finishing process has been completed, the machines used must be cleaned immediately by spraying or washing with water as otherwise, because of the high adhesive power of Bluecoat 9009, intensive mechanical cleaning will be necessary.

The drying temperature should not be below 80 C. The stiffness of the finished goods and their fastness to washing improve as the drying temperature increases. Drying is preferably carried out on the stenter. When working on a cylinder drying machine, care must be taken that the material is well squeezed out before drying and that the first cylinders are wrapped with cloth. The temperature for calendaring should not exceed 60 C since otherwise the product because of its thermo - plasticity, might be deposited on the calendar rollers.

Packing

Bluecoat 9009 is available in wide open mouth 50-100 Kg and 200 Kg. Carbuoys which allows complete removal of material.

Storage

Bluecoat 9009 can be stored in cool place & should not be exposed to sunlight. Container should be properly closed to avoid skin forming, before use remove any skin that may be formed due to surface evaporation and stir the mass with disinfected clean wooden rod to mix and homogenize the dilution that may have occurred

Under the Direct Emulsion Technique of stencil preparation Bluecoat is coated into the screens and within no time screen is ready for printing and this replaces the traditional time consuming and irritating methods of preparing the screens. Our Bluecoat PHOTO EMULSION which is one the textile adhesive manufactured under standard conditions and under strict quality control.

Procedure

1.Cleaning the Screen

Proper fabric treatment and adequate degreasing are very important for good result. Therefore, wash the screen with clean water and dry it.

2.Mixing

Take 1 kg of Bluecoat emulsion in a clean vessel. Also take a glass of distilled water sufficient to mix 5 to 7 grams of Ammonium Bicromate and stir the solution till it is completely dissolved. Mix this solution of Ammonium Bicromate with the Bluecoat solution of 1 kg. and stir until the colour of the solution is changed to light uniform green. Viscosity of the emulsion can be adjusted with distilled water Filter the emulsion with bolting cloth and close the container at least for 1/2 hour so that all the air-bubbles are disappeared.

3.Processing and Coating Techniques

It is always desirable that light in the Photography department is subdued light and if possible, yellow light.

Direct emulsion coating requires skill to produce uniform pinhole free stencils. Important factors are the fabric mesh number, thread diameter, colour of the fabric the tension and the solid contents, the thickness of the coating blade, angle and speed of the coating blade across the screens etc. If you change the supplier of the bolting cloth, check and see that you are receiving the same type of material as before. Thus it is very important that print quality is dependent upon the correct coating technique. If the coating is made to the satisfaction then one coating is sufficient from outside otherwise repeat the procedure.

4.Drying

After the coating is over, it is important to thoroughly dry the coated screen before it is exposed otherwise stencil quality will be poor. Moisture remain present in the coated screen even when the screen feels dry to touch if you are coating the screen for second time. It is important that the first coat be thoroughly dry before the second coat is applied. Dry the coated screens in horizontal position at room temperature with fans, to get best result and sharpness.

5.Exposure

Exposing is one of the most important factors in achieving fine image and sharpness and maximum mechanical screen resistance. The only way of achieving the correct exposing is through adjusting exposing time using fixed factors such as no of tubelight, the quality of the light, set distance and set coating techniques and accordingly photography time is adjusted. Time of photography varies between 30 seconds to 120 seconds under standard conditions.

6.Washing

Immediately after the exposure of screen wash the screen With gentle spray of water from the squeeze side i.e. inside until the image comes up if required use rubber foam gently.

7.Blocking out and touch up

The most common method is to use the excess emulsion for filling the entire screen with a piece of cardboard it touching is required use the same material.

8.Drying with sensitizer

After the screen is washed out. dry the screen and apply with piece of cloth liquid solution of ammonium bicromate. Before sending it to printing department, wash the screen with a sprayer to remove the excess bircromate. Your screen is ready for printing.

Bluecoat - 36 LT - 54 MT - 81 HT

Bluecoat - Blanket adhesive is a thermoplastic adhesive supplied in liquid form for the safe bonding of fabric on the blankets. The Bluecoat Blanket adhesives are of three types mainly Bluecoat-36, Bluecoat-54 & Bluecoat-81 which are designed in such a way that tackiness is found only at a specific temperature. The thermoplastic adhesives are not tacky when they are cold & dry.

Bluecoat-36 LT, Bluecoat-54 MT & Bluecoat-81 HT are liquid, colourless adhesives which do not attack the printing surface of the machine belts.

Properties

Bluecoat-36 LT, Bluecoat-54 MT & Bluecoat-81 HT are not affected by the usual printing auxiliaries &retain their adhesion and strength over a period of time. However it is difficult to predict definite time as it depends on many factors.

Solubility

The Bluecoat 36 LT, Bluecoat 54 MT & Bluecoat 81 HT are soluble in Ethyl Acetate.

Applications

Bluecoat 1809 imparts a durable, soft fuller finish to synthetic textile fabrics. Finish with Bluecoat 1809 is usually carried out on padding mangle. The temperature of the padding liquor varies between 20-70 C depending upon the wetting property of the material. In case the padding liquor has been stored for a longer time, it is advisable to stir it before use.
The drying temperature should not be below 80° C. When working on drying cylinders, care has to be taken that the material is well squeezed out before it is dried.

Storage

Application

Endring Remover is used for removing endrings out of the Rotery Nickle Screen.

Properties

As the product is aggressive in nature & irritating, protect the skin & cloth. Working room should be properly ventilated.

Procedure

Take Endring Remover in bucket & immerse the endring in the liquid & allow the adhesive (glue) to soften for approximately 25 to 30 minutes. Remove the endring by inserting a razor blade between screen & endring. Adhesive (glue) can be wiped of with cloth.

Safety

Always wear hand gloves, & protect the eyes by wearing glass. Incase Chemical comes in contact with skin, wash the skin with water.

Shelf Life

Bluecoat - 414 Photo Screen Emulsion
 
In the process of rotery screen engraving it is the emulsion that forms the link between the image & the screen & playing a vital role. Quality of the image, mechanical resistance to all printing paste, the runability & Photo efficiency are the outstanding features of Bluecoat 414 - PHOTO SCREEN EMULSION. For exposing the screen following procedure is to be followed.

Preparing & Applying

1.Preparation of Emulsion

Take 1 Kg of Bluecoat 414 Emulsion in a clean vessel & also take 50 ml. of sensitizer. Mix them together for sometime till the colour of Emulsion is changed to light uniform green. Viscosity of the Emulsion can be changed by adding DISTILLED WATER depending upon mesh of the screen & technique of coating - i.e. machine coating or hand coating. Filter this emulsion with bolting cloth & close the vessel for 1 hour in cool dark place so that all the air bubbles are disappeared.

2.Degreasing & Cleaning the Screen

A completely grease free screen is required in order to achieve good fixing of Emulsion to the screen. Even if the screen is being used for the first time it is required to be degreased with the degreaser, by giving good rinse & immersion in degreaser & subsequent cleaning with pressure of water. Allow it to dry in a dust free area.


3.Coating of Emulsion

Direct Emulsion Coating requires skill to produce uniform pinhole free coating. Bluecoat 414 Emulsion can be applied to a screen by using circular rubber squeegee. It should be verified that the rubber of the squeegee has constant & correct hardness, elasticity & diameter & even after prolonged use it maintains elasticity & it is not broken or cracked.

There are two methods of coating Photo Emulsion viz. Machine Coating & hand coating.

Machine Coating

In this method Emulsion is applied automatically to screen in single action & one cycle of operation from top to bottom & it forms smooth adhesion between emulsion & screen so that practically no touching is required & pinholes hardly ever occur. Viscosity of the emulsion can be diluted by adding distilled water to suit the machine coating.

Hand Coating

In this type of technique round rings are inserted on both sides of rings & it is placed on floor in upright position & after that emulsion is applied to screen at even speed by using circular rubber squeegee from bottom to top at a even speed & put the screen in dryer. Depending upon the mesh of the screen additional 3 to 4 coats are required by repeating the above procedure.

Drying & Exposing


1.Drying the screen

After applying the emulsion the screen is transferred to dryer & dried by heating air approximately 30° C. & drying it to a relative humidity at 40%. In case of hand coating, if you are coating the screen for 2nd & 3rd time, it is important that the first coat be thoroughly dried before the subsequent coat is applied. Moisture remain present in coated screen even when the screen feels dry to touch.

2.Exposing the Screen

Exposing is one of the most important factors in achieving fine image & sharpness. The important aspect is deciding exposing time which depends on mesh of the screen, thickness of coating, light source for Photography & image pattern. Photo Emulsion is extremely sensitive to ultraviolet light & takes little time for photography. If exposing machines are fitted with metal halogenate lamps or xenon lamps then exposing time of 2 to 4 minutes are sufficient.

Application

Bluecoat 216 Emulsion is used for applying on the sides of the screens for flatbed / table screen printing.

Procedure
  • Take required emulsion in a pot.
  • Apply on all the four sides of the Screens with the help of brush evenly in such a way that it goes into inner-side of the screen.
  • Allow it to dry completely in either sunlight or heater.
Advantages
  • There will not be any leakage from the sides of the Screen & this will save usage of Adhesive tapes.
  • The sides of the screen will be stronger and will withstand pressure of squeeze.
  • There will not be usage of lacquer on the sides of the screens which will save the cost of lacquers / thinners.
  • The drying of the screen is faster than lacquers and therefore Screen becomes dry immediately.
Storage

Keep the container closed away from Sunlight to avoid skin formation.

Shelf Life

12 months, if properly closed.
