The analog model SHR - A - SUPER - Y2K® / SHR - D - SUPER - Y2K® has a specially designed CONSTANT-CONTACT-PRESSURE LOAD-CELL internationally patented which earned us not only the NATIONAL AWARDS FOR INVENTION but was also awarded the GOLD MEDAL at the IENA (INVENTORS' FAIR) at NUREMBERG-GERMANY in October 1999.

This durometer incorporates both shore A and shore D scales in one instrument.

 

The Durometer is supplied with 2 precalibrated load cells, one for shore A scale and the other for shore D scale.

 

Both load cells are screwable to the main body. The teser come fitted with laod cell for shore A scale while the load cell for shore D scale is supplied extra.

These are standard devices suitable for holding the Durometers so as to allow for a series of tests quickly.

 

The tester is fitted on to the pins in the stand and the specimen kept on the platform is lifted to the tester by pressing the knob.

 

Separate stands are used for Shore-A and Shore-D testers as each stand has a separate built in loading device to give a constant contact pressure confirming to international standards.

It is used for finding the hardness of sponge rubber and plastics. It is also used for low density textile windings. It is not recommended for use on foamed latex .

This is another version of circular durometers, in which the main dial is horizontally read for the sake of convience.
