Our liquid vapour separator is used in fuel tanks of space vessel. It includes:
First and second liquid-vapour separator walls
Vapour vent
Unvented outlet chamber having an outlet
The aforesaid first & second liquid-vapour separator walls are arranged in such manner that liquid flows into the first trap volume through the second liquid-vapour separator wall and then flows from the first trap volume to the outlet chamber via first liquid-vapour separator wall.
The vapour vent is strategically located at such a place that vapour within the first trap volume is vented from there as the liquid flows into the first trap volume, wherein the first liquid-vapour separator wall comprises of a plurality of separator plates.
These plates are clamped together with engaging surfaces of neighboring plates that are formed with liquid-vapour separator passages between the said surfaces. The aforesaid passages are dimensioned which allows inhabitation of vapour flow, at the same time allowing liquid flow.
Another model of our vapour separator comprises of a liquid trap having:
A first liquid-vapour separator wall which is annular and through which liquid flows to a liquid outlet
A second liquid-vapour separator wall through which liquid flows into the trap
A third liquid-vapour separator wall surrounding the first liquid-vapour separator wall to define a gallery at a place which is in communication with liquid outlet
A vapour vent located tactically to allow vapour within the trap collects therein and vents from the trap as liquid flows into the trap
The first liquid-vapour separator wall comprises of a plurality of separator plates that are clamped together with engaging surfaces of the adjacent plates that are formed with the liquid-vapour separator passages between the aforesaid surfaces.
