Complex Inorganic Colour Pigments (CICP) are based on mixed metal oxides. Due to their production via a calcination process at high temperatures of 700-1300 degree C, they exhibit excellent, heat stability, lightfastness, chemical resistance and weather fastnesss properties.

Asahi Kasei Kogyo Co., Ltd., Japan: mixed metal oxide based pigments are highly stable colorants which offer excellent light, weather, heat and chemical stability due to their manufacture by calcination process at high temperatures of 700-1300 degree C. Wide application in heat resistant paints, heavy duty paints, coil coatings, solar energy collection paints, camouflage paints, heat reflective paints, metallic paints coloured with transparent colorants, artist colours, etc. A range of Infrared reflecting pigments is also offered. Also widely used in PVC, PS, PP, PE, ABS, PA6, PA66, PC, etc. For long lasting home appliances, automobile interior parts, beverage crates, outdoor furniture, etc.

Infra-Red Reflecting (IRR) Pigments are functional colorants which have the capability to reflect the infra-red radiation.

49% of the sun’s energy is composed of infra-red radiation. This infra-red radiation is solely responsible for generating heat. The UV and Visible wavelengths of solar radiation to do not contribute to heat build up.

The IRR pigments apart from reflecting heat also exhibit their normal visible reflected colour such as yellow, black, blue, etc. And hence provide the additional functional property of heat reflection along with the normal colour value expected from a pigment.
