Using a special unique polymer coupling technology, a polymer chain coating is applied to the blood-side of the dialyzer membrane surface. These polymer chains consist of hydrophilic polyethylene glycol (PEG) groups and hydrophobic alkyl groups. By bending and swaying on the membrane surface, these chains create a diffusive layer which physically prevents blood components from coming into direct contact with the underlying membrane surface. Blood-membrane interaction is markedly reduced.

Whenever the pulse rate during training increases to a value exceeding the input pulse rate, the pedaling resistance will automatically be reduced, if the pulse rate drops below the input value, the pedaling resistance is increased accordingly.
