Born 1940. Education and experience: Graduated in Science from Calcutta University. Graduated from the Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata, 1965. Ex-principal, College of Art, New Delhi. Founder-member, Gallery 26. Executive member, Academy of Visual Media, New Delhi. Art adviser to various art organizations. Member, Habitat Centre, Delhi. Senior Fellowship, Ministry of Culture, Government of India. AIFACS Award, Mahakoshal Award (Bhopal), NBT Award, New Delhi. Written articles on subjects concerning art and art education. Exhibitions: New Delhi 1967, 1975, 1982, 1984, 1993, 1995, 1998, 2001 and 2002; Mumbai 1988, 1990, 1992, 1994, and 1996; Pondicherry 1992, 2002; Kolkata 1984. Group shows in New Delhi, Kolkata, Santiniketan, Chandigarh, Bhopal, Dhaka, Damascus, Chennai, Seoul. Participated in many art camps organized by AIFACS, Dhoomimal Gallery, Maharaja of Jodhpur, Tatas (Jamshedpur), Taj Banjara (Hyderabad) organized by Aurodhan Gallery, Urusvati Gallery, Gallery Mirage, VHAI, British 3X camp, Lalit Kala Akademi.
