Education and experience: Graduated from Calcutta University in 1952. Studied at the Indian College of Arts and Draftsmanship, Kolkata, 1956-58. Art appreciation course, Asutosh Museum, Calcutta University, 1959. Founder-member, Calcutta Painters and Calcutta Art Fair. Member, Charukala Parishad, Government of West Bengal. Member, General Council, Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, 1979-83. Awarded Abanindra Puroskar by the Government of West Bengal, 2002. Featured in documentary film on Contemporary Indian Painters, 1985, and "Destination Art", a serial profiling five modern Indian painters, directed by Samir Dutta. Subject of a documentary film by Buddhadev Dasgupta, called "Rabin", made in 2003. Participated in the Intuitive Logic II Exhibition-Auction, Mumbai, 1997. Represented at Osian's auctions in Mumbai, curated by Neville Tuli. Edited Drawings by 14 Contemporary Artists of Bengal, 1970. Exhibitions: Many one-man shows in Kolkata, New Delhi, and Mumbai since 1961. Participated in many group shows in India and abroad, including the National Exhibition of Art, New Delhi; AIFACS; Jehangir Art Gallery; Third Triennale India 1975; Tokyo Biennale, 1984; and Contemporary Indian Art, Dhaka, Bangladesh, 1992.
