Born 1938. Education and experience: Diploma in Arts from the Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata, and post-graduate art appreciation course, Calcutta University, 1960. Lecturer in Arts, Victoria Institution, Kolkata, 1960-63, and J. D. Birla College, Kolkata, 1991-92. Member, Society of Contemporary Artists, 1959-61. Founder-member, The Group, a consortium of women artists of Kolkata. Member, Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, 2002. Won several awards, including Governor's gold medal, Art Society, Kolkata, 1971; best exhibit, Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata, 1993; President of India Medal fo Senior Artists, AIFACS, 1999; and Lalit Kala Akademy Annual 44, 2003.
