Born 1967.  Education and experience: BVA, Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata. MFA, MSU University, Baroda. Awards won include All India Youth Art Award 1987; Indian Society of Oriental Art Award 1992 and 1993; best painting of the year award, Government College of Art and Craft, 1991-92 and 1992-93; UNESCO-Aschberg 'Boursaries pour les Artistes', 1996; residency in Senegal, 1996; Outstanding Young Person in Fine Arts for the year 2003; Savannah College of Art and Design, Georgia, USA, 2006; Vermont Studio Center, USA, 2008. Exhibitions:  Solo shows in Kolkata (2000), France (2004), and the Netherlands (2006). Participations include group shows at Birla Academy of Art and Culture (Kolkata), Academy of Fine Arts (Kolkata), Gallery 88 (Kolkata), exhibition of young French and Indian artists organized by Alliance Francaise in 1992, CIMA (1995), India Today , Newelhi, Daira Centre for Art and Culture, Hyderabad, 2006, Vadhera Art Gallery, Rabindra Bhavan (New Delhi), Art Today Gallery, 'Icon-Idol-Image' in Max Mueller Bhavan (Kolkata), 'Artists for Sustainable World' at Chemould (Kolkata) and Lakeeren Gallery (Mumbai) in 1998, Contemporary Bengal Art (Prabaha-3) at Biswa Banga Sammelan (USA), Calcutta Metropolitan Festival of Contemporary Art, ITC Sonar, Kolkata, 2005.  Contact: (mobile) 91-98301-16632.
