Education and experience: First class diploma in Fine Arts from the Indian College of Art and Draftsmanship, Kolkata, 1971. All India awards from the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata (1980-1981) and Birla Academy of Art and Culture, Kolkata (1984; award from the Government of West Bengal (1984); Shiromani award from Asian Paints (1985). Featured in "Art for Concern" charity auctions in New Delhi (2005 and 2006) and Mumbai (2006); Osian's auctions 1991, 2002, 2008; Hope Foundation auction 2008 and 2009. Subject of a documentary titled Vision Unveiled. Exhibitions: Solo exhibitions 1969, 1970, 1974, 1984, 2003, 2006.
